CHRISTMASTIDE
25 December 2016 - 7 January 2017
Let us pray…
For those who have died and left this transitory life...especially for the repose of the soul of Ambrose Hass, Thomas Dedo, Tracey Doucet and Jack Dennison, brother of Darlene White.
For all who are experiencing illness...especially Father Douglas Morris, Father John Affleck, Glenn Carter, Jane Shannon, Bert Blimkie, Ken McQuade, Greg Hanniman, George Prince, Rosemarie Culligan, Emile Giroux, Armand Lepine, Pat Lepine, Judith Anderson, Philomene Wright, Joan Prince, Ken Rekowski, Heidi Bennett, John Gwyn, Megan Gwyn, Christopher Gwyn, Conrad Bennett, Penny Guyea and Phil Rekowski.
For the Holy Father’s intentions for January...that all Christians may be faithful to the Lord’s teaching by striving with prayer and fraternal charity to restore ecclesial communion and by collaborating to meet the challenges facing humanity.
Christmas is the feast of the loving humility of
God, of the God who upsets our logical
expectations, the established order, the order of
the dereliction and the mathematician. In this
upset lies the all the richness of God’s own
thinking, which overturns our limited way of
thinking...At Christmas, we are called to say
“yes” with our faith, not to the Master of the
Universe and not even to the most noblest of ideas,
but precisely to this God who is the humble lover.
POPE FRANCIS, 22 DECEMBER

My thanks and appreciation for all who have laboured in recent weeks to prepare for the celebrations of Christmas. Our parish staff, musicians, and choir members have given many extra hours of time and effort. Thank you to the Catholic Women’s League who have once again delivered gifts to the home-bound members of the parish and to the Knights of Columbus who host the annual Christmas Day Dinner.
Sincere thanks to all who donated gift cards and funds towards assisting families in need at this time of year. As a result of your overwhelming generosity, many families are having a brighter Christmas! May God reward your kindness!
