Faith Moment Reflection We are each unique – with our own talents, our own experiences, our own opinions. But we are also part of something larger, something greater than each of us. We are part of God’s family. In today’s Gospel Jesus tells us "I am the vine, you are the branches." He means each of us – the branches – are meant to bear fruit in our own unique way to further the Kingdom of God – the vine. But we can't do it alone. We need to cooperate, each of us using our God-given talents to work together on His behalf. Just like the branches are interwoven and dependent on the vine, so are we interconnected and in need of God’s support. God will nourish and guide us. And we can look to Jesus as our example. As Jesus reminds us, "A branch cannot bear fruit on its own unless it remains on the vine. So neither can you."
Pilgrimage to Poland. As you make your way to Poland, Land
of Kings, Saints, and Divine Mercy! Walk in the footsteps of Saint
John Paul II - from where he was born, baptized, where he became
a Priest - Bishop - Cardinal, and where he spent his time visiting as
Pope. Take in the Shrine of Divine Mercy (in Lagiewniki) and be
drawn closer to the life of St. Faustina and her Divine Mercy
message. One of the most obvious works of mercy, and perhaps the
most difficult to put into practice, is to forgive others. This
pilgrimage will teach you, and allow you, to be able to forgive.

SUNDAY OF EASTER APRIL 29TH, 2018
NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER
In 1775 the Continental Congress allocated a time for prayer in forming a new nation. Over the years, there have been calls for a day of prayer, including from President Abraham Lincoln in 1863. On April 17, 1952, President Harry Truman signed a bill proclaiming the National Day of Prayer into law in the United States. President Reagan amended the law in 1988, designating the first Thursday of May each year as the National Day of Prayer.
The National Prayer Committee was formed in the United States in 1972. It went on to create the National Day of Prayer Task Force, with the intended purpose of coordinating events for the National Day of Prayer. According to the Legal Information Institute, the President shall issue each year a proclamation designating the first Thursday in May as a National Day of Prayer on which the people of the United States may turn to God in prayer and meditation at churches, in groups, and as individuals.
SECOND COLLECTION: The second collection today is for the Catholic Home Missions Appeal . Please be generous in your donation.

MAY IS THE MONTH OF MARY THE BLESSED MOTHER OF OUR LORD
In our observance of the Marian month, we take into account the season of the Church Year which largely corresponds with the fifty days of Easter. Our spiritual exercises emphasize Mary’s participation in the Paschal mystery. The spiritual exercises connected with the month of May can easily highlight the earthly role played by the gloried Queen of Heaven, here, and now, in the celebration of the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist.
* The Rosary
* Litanies of the Blessed Virgin Mary
* Consecration and Entrustment to Mary
* The Brown Scapular and other Scapular * Medals
OUR LADY OF CZESTOCHOWA PRAY FOR US
Bishop Quigley High School Memorial Mass will be held at Mercy Center (next door to Mercy Hospital), 625 Abbott Road, Bflo., on Saturday May 5 at 4:00 pm. Light refreshments following the Mass. All are welcome.
PARENTING PERSPECTIVE
Grandparents have access to history that can thrill and surprise their grandchildren. They can tell stories about how life used to be and shed some light on how the child’s parent was a generation ago. They are the keepers of tradition. Don’t lose the wisdom. Connect with each other in a meaningful and lasting way.
There is still some Mases available from July to December, 2018, on weekdays and also the 10:00 am Polish Masses on Sundays. If anyone would like a Mass for their loved ones, please call the Rectory.
