You see, we’re not satisfied with the status quo of senior living care today. We want to go outside the box, color outside the lines, and challenge conventional thinking. Sure, we all know that with the aging process comes standard challenges; but our goal is to meet those hurdles with an environment that allows residents to live their life to the fullest.

Assisted Living & Memory CareA Bird’s Eye ViewThe campus and accommodations of Osprey Lodge are designed around a Colorado Lodge environment offering warmth and coziness making it a great place to call home.

Beginning with a grand rustic beam entrance, the lodge flavor is carried inside with the large beams, stone fireplace and themed dining areas, including the Deer’s Trail Dining Room and the Boulder Cafe. Other exciting places to discover are the Whispering Woods Library, Summit Wellness Center, Living Waters Chapel, Silver Fox Salon, Inspiration Point Arts & Craft Studio, and Coon-Dog Porch (an interactive area where residents can visit with our therapy dogs).

ASSISTED LIVING

Osprey Lodge offers Assisted Living for residents who need a helping hand with daily living but have a passion to live life to their fullest potential.

Residents will reside in 76 beautiful (and homey) 1 or 2 bedroom accommodations.

MEMORY CARE

Memory Care is for residents who need specialized care relating to Alzheimer’s and Dementia in a unique state-of-the art environment that celebrates a person’s dignity. The home-style setting offers 48 Studio rooms clustered around three main living and dining areas as well as a central interactive garden.

Location, Location, Location!Osprey Lodge is proud to be an active part of the local “Golden

Triangle” communities of Tavares, Eustis, and Mount Dora.

Located in Tavares, the “Seaplane City” and county seat of Lake County, Osprey Lodge is convenient to area shopping, restaurants, medical offices and facilities including Florida

Hospital Waterman. Other nearby destinations include the scenic downtown areas of Tavares, Mount Dora, and Eustis–all only

minutes away. For those with a more adventurous spirit, major attractions such as Disney, Epcot, Universal Studios, Sea World or

the beaches, are all within an hour’s drive.

Complimenting its small town charm, Lake County is home to a multitude of major festivals and events, including art and music

festivals, antique exhibitions, sailing and boating regattas, cycling and racing events, and more! In addition to a full calendar of events, the

variety of natural and historical places offers something of interest to everyone, which makes for great day excursions.

over that those who contribute and are a part of something bigger than themselves are

healthier and live longer. Why not support that?

How about a mentor program where the wisdom and life

experience of senior citizens is appreciated and utilized, giving

residents a feeling of renewed self worth. We believe our residents

have much to offer and encourage them to be as active in their

community as possible.

Love! Really a “no-brainer”, it’s still important to remind ourselves that

loving and being loved are as essential to life as breathing and provide another key to longevity. We’re not just talking

about physical love, but also a deep caring for others that can help overcome feelings of loneliness and isolation, bringing joy to the giver as well as the receiver. Our goal is to

create an atmosphere that encourages resident, family, staff and community interaction,

whether through community social events or an intimate dining experience.

Laugh! Studies show over and over that laughter truly can be the best medicine. Let’s face

it; we all take life too seriously at times. Doing something simple like giving (or receiving) a smile

can make a big difference in one’s day. So with that in mind, we’re creating a Smile Enforcement Team that

will go around and strictly enforce an Anti-frown Rule.

GONE TO THE DOGS!From its inception, Osprey Lodge was designed to be different. That’s why when we asked the question;

“What would make it seem more like your home?”, one of the answers was,

“I want to have a dog.”

“You don’t mean a real dog?”

“Yeah, a real dog. You know, like the one I had at home.”

“Do you want to feed it and take care of it?”

“Hmmn, well maybe sometimes.”

“Okay, so you mean something small, like a Toy Poodle.”

“Maybe, but maybe also a bigger, furrier dog.”

“Oh, you mean like a Collie?”

“Yeah, that’s it – a beautiful, long haired Collie!”

Well if a dog really is man’s best friend, then we were determined to make it happen.

So here at Osprey Lodge, we created a special place where residents can enjoy interaction with our furry friends whenever they like, giving them one more reason to call this special place home. So while residents don’t have any of the “work” of owning their own dog, they can still experience all the joy and benefits that animal companionship brings.

Oh, by the way, the experts now agree that having a pet can enhance the quality of life for Seniors by helping overcome loneliness, enhance self worth, reduce stress and anxiety and even lower blood pressure. Surprise, surprise… but I’m sure you already knew that.

The Osprey Lodge Story

“Finally – a team that understands!”

A Desire is HatchedOver a decade ago, Tom Hofmeister and The

Hofmeister Group built its first Adult Living Facility (ALF). The privilege of building a structure that

would be appreciated by many families over many years was an unforgettable experience. To the

average passerby, it may simply be an appealing building on the corner, but in the hearts and minds

of those who passed through its doors, that ALF will be forever attached to a fond memory of a loved one.

A Soaring IdeaConstructing that first ALF ignited a passion within Tom to create

not only a facility possessing the warmth and comfort of home, but also an entire senior living community that would contribute

to a legacy of hope and fulfillment. Influenced by his own personal experiences in dealing with aging family members, Tom wanted to

create architecture that would support innovative ideas and foster a culture where a senior resident’s individual spirit and gifts could be celebrated and given maximum opportunity to flourish. In 2008 he

set out to do just that.

Taking FlightAfter selecting a site that offered lakefront views and great proximity

to area shopping and medical facilities, Tom and his partner Dave Croson, began assembling a team of experts from all facets of senior

care. These consultants were comprised of architects, engineers, and construction professionals along with a multitude of healthcare

providers, including doctors, nursing staff, managers and even those specializing in Alzheimer/Dementia care.

With the support of these experts, and the culmination of hundreds of meetings, interviews, and field trips to senior facilities, the vision of Osprey Lodge began to materialize.

Our PassionOur passion now is to celebrate each senior’s life-calling, gifts, and abilities. We believe by a creating culture that

provides the best tools and environment, superior care will be the natural result.

Life Safety Communication SystemAssisted Living apartments feature a personal intercom system allowing immediate 24-hour,

2-way communication between the resident and care staff. Residents have the option to purchase a pendant that can be worn around the neck or wrist that is activated by the push of a button.In the Memory Care unit, this wireless system enables staff to access additional assistance and

track care visits. This record of care will assist in maintaining properly documented contact with residents concerning care, disbursement of medications, visitations, and other activities.

masonry structure built to withstand hurricane force winds. From its back-up electrical systems to impact resistant windows, everything was designed to provide a secure, safe shelter from

Mother Nature’s temper-tantrums, giving residents and their families peace of mind.

Home StyleMemory Care at Osprey Lodge provides a safe haven for those who are facing the

challenges of Alzheimer’s or other forms of Dementia. Our state-of-the-art care is designed to recognize and value each resident’s independent spirit. We count it an honor and
