Wildcat Families!

We continue to work on the Wildcat Way every day. Standards based instruction and technology integration are happening in classrooms. What makes our school great is what occurs within the walls of our classrooms! We continuously work to always provide an enriching and challenging learning environment. The focus is always on learning and being kind to fellow Wildcats. Wildcats believe that when we THINK before we speak, we increase the peace. Oslo Middle School is an Outstanding Student Learning Opportunity. We encourage you to spread the word that OMS is the place to be. We welcome your active participation in your child’s education, and we urge you to be proactive in communicating with our administration, counselors and teachers, and, as time allows, to volunteer in our various programs and events.

Girls and Boys Basketball has begun, along with Lacrosse. The Wildcat Culinary Club encourages all Wildcats to integrate the 5-2-1-0 philosophy! Getting your fruits and veggies, limited screen time, daily exercise, and skipping sugary drinks ensures a healthy body and mind.

We at Oslo Middle School remain dedicated to advancing your child’s academic, social and personal development in a supportive, safe and challenging learning environment. By working together, we will ensure success for your child. Happy Holidays!!

INTERESTED IN SPORTS? (Baseball, Lacrosse, or Softtball)

Teams are starting spring pre-season conditioning. No experience is necessary to join a team. The only requirements a student needs is the desire to work hard, be a team player, and that Wildcat Spirit. Please contact Germaine Johnson, Athletic Director at 772-564-4010 or e-mail: [email protected]

BUILDING WILDCAT CULTUREOur Basketball highlight is the Student vs Staff Basketball game on November 20th. This was a fun filled Basketball game organized by Deputy Ramirez. Our Oslo students played a fascinating game against the Oslo staff team which included Coaches, Teachers, and Deputy Ramirez. The final Score was 31-30, Staff 31 and Students 30. We have an amazing group of students here at Oslo and we look forward to sharing more moments like this.

MEDICATIONSStudents are not permitted to carry medications on their person. This includes prescription and over the counter drugs. Tylenol, cough drops and eye drops are examples of over the counter drugs. The only exception to this rule is for students who carry a metered dose inhaler or Epipen kit AND have a permission form signed by their parent and physician. Medication should be brought to school only if it is necessary to give the medication during school hours. Parents should seek medical attention for their child if a health condition requires the use of over the counter medication at school for 3 days.

School board policy indicates that:

• Medication must be brought to school by an adult.• A written permission form must be completed and signed

by the parent/guardian.• Medication must be brought to school in its original

container.• Medicines and treatments considered outside medical

protocols as established by the Health Department such as aloe for burns, meat tenderizer for bee stings, etc. require a physician’s note.

All medications will be dispensed in the School Health room unless a specific individual need is being addressed. Accommodations must be approved by the school administrator.
