The artists involved in the 2015-2016 Creative Spark Residency Programme were Desiree de Ruiter (Victoria, Canada), Una Curley (Co. Monaghan), Sean Cotter (Co. Louth), Jennifer Quigley (Co. Louth) and Mary Claire Kehoe (Co. Wexford). There will be a parallel exhibition of work by Creative Spark print studio members. Spirit of Creativity 20:20 Venue: Creative Spark Date: Thursday 3 November 7pm as part of Design Week (7 – 14 November). This fast-paced and fun Pecha Kucha style event is a chance for you to talk about something you’re passionate about and see what other people are into too. The evening is run in a slideshow format with each person displaying 20 images of their choice with 20 seconds to talk about each image. You don’t have to take part as a speaker, audience members are welcome too. Open Day Venue: Creative Spark Date: Saturday 10 December Free family fun from 2-5pm. Lots of arts, crafts and games to enjoy. Becoming a firm favourite with Dundalk families, this is a date to mark in your diary! colours and apply texture. Explore pop art, graffiti, manga and abstract

expressionism to create some fun and wacky paint creations!

You will learn how to make screen prints with photographic or hand drawn imagery followed by the process of cleaning and coating the screen, exposing the image and printing on paper or fabric.

Oil Painting Tutor: Kate Beagan Cost: €160Date & Time: Saturday + Sunday10am – 5pm 10 and 11 SeptemberKate is a professional artist and art instructor, with over 25 years’ experience conducting painting classes and workshops. She has had many solo and group exhibitions in Ireland, England, Brussels and Amsterdam. During this two-day intensive course Kate will share her tips and expertise to help you gain confidence and proficiency in the medium of oil painting. Bring your own materials.

Free Motion Embroidery Tutor: Caoimhe O’Dwyer Cost: €80Date & Time: Saturday 10am – 5pm 24 September Drawing with your sewing machine is a fun way to create embroidered works of art and embellishments. You’ll get plenty of free-motion practice throughout the day and learn a variety of stitch types while working on some beautiful projects. your photographs or drawings into rich velvety intaglio

prints on fine art paper. The process will appeal to photographers and printmakers alike. Participants will learn how to expose drawings or photographs with deep tonal qualities to

light sensitive plates which will then be inked

up and printed using the traditional etching press.

Willow Basket Weaving Tutor: Ronan Russell Cost: €80Date & Time: Saturday 10am – 5pm 15 OctoberLearn the traditional craft of basket weaving using locally grown willow and complete a basket in one day.

Bookbinding-Expandable Books Tutor: Eilis Murphy Cost: €80Date & Time: Saturday 10am – 4pm 22 OctoberIn this workshop, participants will create a hardback sewn binding, which makes an excellent sketchbook, journal or artist’s book. Using simple sewing techniques, participants will be encouraged to develop their own distinctive book binding. They will gain knowledge of how to use basic book binding tools and principals of bookbinding including grain direction, gluing and folding tips. Participants are encouraged to bring along any ideas, decorative paper, found objects or artwork that they would like to incorporate into their books
