ATHENA 30 Sept.2015
WP 2016-2017 – 5 Calls – 15 topics – 613 M€
1. Development of new pan-European RIs (4) 140 M€
2. Integrating Activities (2) 200 M€
3. e-Infrastructures (5) 221 M€ (funded by DG CNECT)
4. Fostering the innovation potential of RI (2) 30 M€
5. Support to Policy & International cooperation (2) 22 M€
INFRAIA-2-2017: IA for Starting Communities (SC): never supported for their RI
integration under EU FP7 or Horizon 2020 calls, in particular within an IA
Two-stage call. Bottom-up approach (= tous sujets !!!!)
Total budget 40 M€ - EU contribution per proposal (RIA) up to 5 M€
step1 30 march 2016 (20 pages) ~10%, step2 30 march 2017 (full proposal)~40%
INFRAIA-1-2016-2017: IA for Advanced Communities (AC): whose RIs show an
advanced degree of coordination gained through previous IA grants
One stage call. Targeted approach based on a pre-selection list (27 topics)
Total budget 160 M€ - EU contribution per proposal (RIA) up to 10 M€
submission 30 march 2016 (full proposal)~70%
SHARE, CLARIN, ESS, CESSDA)
IA (I3) – instrument CSA-RIA
• Access to European Social Science Data Archives and Official Statistics. A project under this topic should aim at a further improvement of the researcher's access to official statistics. Work should address technologies for secured trans-national access to sensitive data. Synergies with relevant ESFRI Infrastructures, in particular CESSDA, should be duly exploited.
• Research infrastructures for the study of poverty, working life and living conditions. The aim of this activity is to bring together research infrastructures serving European and international research in the fields of poverty, working life, and living conditions. It will compile historical data, and provide instruments for the analysis of the effects of employers’ behaviour and the evaluation of labour market and social policies targeted to vulnerable groups as well as offer training to researchers interested in the use of these instruments.
11 IA en SHS financés au FP7

The e-Infrastructure calls have 3 themes
1 - Integration and consolidation of large scale e-infrastructure platforms supporting European policies and research and education communities
2 - Prototyping innovative e-infrastructure platforms and services for research and education communities, industry and citizens at large
• Platform-driven e-infrastructure innovation
• => GÉANT Partnership projects (platform driven innovation)
• User-driven e-infrastructure innovation
• => Interactive Computing for the Human Brain Project FET Flagship
3 - Support to policies and international cooperation
2. Prototyping innovative platforms and services
Innovation topics respond to the emerging needs of the research and education communities, industry, especially SMEs and citizens.

IMPORTANT : 3 essential links/items to consider in your proposal !
1/ Projects funded under WP16-17 will by default participate in the Pilot on Open Research Data in Horizon 2020 => contact OPENAIRE
2/ The use of a Data Management Plan (DMP) will be mandatory detailing:
- what data the project will generate,
- whether and how it will be exploited or made accessible for verification,
- how it will be curated and preserved for re-use
3/ and Innovation !!!
