 50MW MNRE scheme

— Tariff support up to Rs 15/kWh ( ~$0.30 / kWh)

— 10MWs per State and 5 MWs per Project Developer

— More than 2000 MWs of proposals received by Government

‘Solar Mission’ created by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO)

— Lessons learnt from the feedback to the 50MW scheme in terms of financial viability, tenure of subsidized tariffs, cheaper funding requirements, capacity, etc.

— These lessons have ‘changed’ the way Govt perceived Solar and is now very ‘positive’

— To announce Policy for 1000MWs in Phase 1 in next few months and then take it to

India : Developing Solar Market

Proprietary & Confidential 20

— To announce Policy for 1000MWs in Phase 1 in next few months and then take it to 5000MWs by 2015

 Progress so far

— Most of the 50MWs has been allocated to various Project developers

— The progress has been slow so far because of some regulatory and procedural issues primarily because this is the first time such a policy has been announced for Solar

 Forecast

— With the ‘Solar Mission’ on the verge of announcing at least a 1000MW policy, it is expected that in the next 3-5 years, all of this will be installed on ground

— Apart from that, the States of Rajasthan & Gujrat have announced intentions to install approx 200-300 MWs over the next 1-3 years independent of the central subsidy

Other than providing Turn-key solutions for Solar Farms, MB is now aggressively entering into other segments of PV

 Telecom Towers

— Very attractive segment providing break-even in 6-8 years

— Players eligible to avail 80% accelerated depreciation benefit

— Already installed a few projects in Southern India; Will be doing some 40 sites in Bangladesh; In discussions with all major telecom tower players

Roof-top installations

PV Systems

Proprietary & Confidential 21

 Roof-top installations

— Our custom-designed Hybrid systems provide break-even in 4-6 years

— These are grid-connect SPV systems linked to the grid and DG

— Have done multiple projects in varying sizes

— Recently won India’s largest stand-alone system business – 140kW to be put up in Gujarat on roof-top of a Govt building in next 2-3 months

— Nominated to do a 1MW roof-top project in 2010 for a real-estate company

— In serious discussions for a 1MW grid-connect roof-top SPV project with a customer in Haryana

Challenges in Present Financial Environment

• European Banks are “closed” for business

– Even sanctioned projects delayed/ deferred

• Spain restricted cap on total installation

• France and Italy still not finalized subsidy

• USA wild card for 2009-2010

• Financing for capacity expansion

Proprietary & Confidential

– Cost reduction strongly dependent on volume expansion

• Financing for small and large PV systems in India

• Financing for solar power solution for off-grid applications in India ( Rural banks, ATM’s, water pumping, etc.)
