HAPPY TAILS DOG PARK

GUIDELINES FOR REOPENING

The dog park, located near the RV parking lot, is a large area which allows plenty of room for users to remain

at least six feet apart from each other. It is rare to find more than 10 people at the park at the same time. The

entry gate to the park has a keypad where everyone has to enter the assigned code in order to get inside the

park. This keypad and the gates themselves are the only surfaces that everyone needs to touch. In order to

facilitate the reopening of the dog exercise areas according to guidelines provided by Governor DeSantis and

the CDC, the following guidelines can be followed easily by our members.

1. When entering the code on the keypad and opening and closing gates, wear some kind of protective

covering on your hand. Some examples include carrying a wipe, rag or even a poop bag.

2. Maintain the required 6’ distance from others even when sitting on the benches.

3. Benches will be rearranged to maintain 6’ distance requirement

4. Do not go to the dog park if you are not feeling well.

5. Frisbees, balls and throw sticks will no longer be available for common use and will be locked up

6. If you need any of these items to exercise your dog, bring your own and then take it home with you.

7. Let common sense prevail. For example, if you arrive at the park and see more than ten people in the

large area, then use the smaller park.

All Horseshoe Club players will be required to follow the protocols (below) until further notice:

Horseshoes is played on a courtyard that is 40 feet long with a stake at each end. There is a cement walkway

between the stakes. Around the stakes is Kentucky blue clay. The object of the game is to get ringers with the

horseshoes hitting the stake. Points are achieved by the horseshoes hitting around the stake, too. No one touches the

other person’s horseshoes.

1 There are 2 players on each end of the court standing (easily 6 ft. Apart)

2 We will wear masks.

3 Stay 6 feet apart at all times.

4 We use hooks to pick up our horseshoes.

5 Another option is to play 2 people on a court, one on each end.

6 We can use every other court for substantial distancing.

7 We typically only have 6-8 players in the summer.
