• 48 Bags of seed

• Two to three times more than box style planter

• Plant three times longer between fills

• Seed weight carried on frame and not openers = constant down pressure

• Superior seed depth control

2.7 Bushel-Per-Foot Box Capacity

Big King Seed Capacity=More Acres Per Day

• The optional insecticide system allows for commonly used boxes and meters to deliver insecticide either in front of or between opener blades.

• All the weight of 50 bushels of seed and box is carried on the frame and supported by the land wheels. Now there’s no more uneven planting depth variation between a full box and an empty box!

• Baffles sloping toward the twin meter row divides the box into approximately six equal compartments.

• Baffles inside the box direct seed toward the holes feeding the meters for superior box cleanout.

A 20" dia. fan provides plenty of vacuum to pull the seed to the seed plates for superior seed singulation — especially important when equipping planter meter with "Precision E-Set" components. Direct hydraulic drive (no secondary belts or pulleys) with case drain for years of trouble-free operation. Static balanced for smooth (no vibration) operation.

New Cast Steel Planter Opener with Dual Gauge Wheels and Narrow Curf Design:• 16" 4 mm twin blades have been used instead of 15" 3½ mm blades

to increase wear life; and a longer wear life means more value to you.

• Blade angle has been reduced from 14° to 9½°. Lessened soil movement means fewer open trenches to close.

• Cast and machined bearing housing instead of stamped metal flanges for more strength.

• Double stacked individual blade bearings replacing double row bearings provide more radial load capability.

• Pair of gauge wheels allow for maximum trash and dirt flow. Seed is carried in a drill box mounted to the frame; therefore, the gauge wheels are not necessary to carry planter boxes that are constantly varying in weight as seed is either emptied or being refilled.

• Easily adjustable opener down-pressure springs let you adjust from 125 to 500 lbs. of down-pressure per opener. Spring geometry in our parallel linkage maintains the same down-pressure throughout the opener’s travel range at a fraction of the cost of an air bag system.

• We’ve added Connex spring bushings. The corrugated slot design of the Connex spring bushing provides much higher surface pressure against its housing than conventional straight slotted tension bushings. This provides a superior wear surface around pivot points with no need to find those cumbersome grease zerks to grease.

• Variable speed hydraulic drive or mechanical wheel drive available. We have worked to reduce the price of variable rate seeding while still maintaining superior functionality to the point where we can now offer variable speed as a very price-competitive option. Hook directly to any Cambus ISO 11783 compatible tractor. Once again, we are setting the pace through innovation!

Picket Row Perfect Corn Stand

Achieving even plant spacing for improved yields means achieving singulation, and for that you need to look at the row unit — from seed meter, to seed tube, to ground furrow, to furrow closure — and this is precisely what CrustBuster did for this unit.

Having Twin Rows means that you can push seed population to heights unattainable with single-row spacing. This allows each plant more space to attain its maximum genetic potential.

Controlling Down Force Means More Production and More Profits

The TW 6020 (twin rows on 6x36" wide beds) has a total capacity of 50-plus bushels, which also equates to approximately 48 bags of peanut seed. Seed weight is carried on the frame and not on the row unit.

Too much down force produces sidewall compaction, uneven emergence and poor root development. Too little down force causes you to lose depth. Either way, your yield suffers. The TW 6020 solves this problem by controlling down-pressure and ground contact with a parallel linkage opener with five pressure spring settings maintaining constant and accurate down-pressure throughout the 10" of travel.

Select the right down-pressure for the field condition and plant with confidence to produce the best results!

Improving Yields Some planter manufacturers still believe twin row planting is a fad, but once they see CrustBuster’s new twin row planting sys-tem, they will turn green with envy. 17” to 19” row widths might make optimum use of available sunlight, but planting on twin rows gives the same thing without having to change all of your existing tillage, spraying and harvesting equipment.

We have modified the opener to give superior field performance: 16” 4 mm twin blades have been used instead of 15” 3

½ mm blades to increase wear life; and a longer wear life means more value to you.

Blade angle has been reduced from 14° to 9 ½°. Less-ened soil movement means fewer open trenches to close.

Cast and machined bearing housing instead of stamped metal flanges for more strength.

Double stacked indi-vidual blade bearings replacing double row bearings provide more radial load capability.

Pair of 2” wide gauge wheels allow for maximum trash and dirt flow. Seed is carried in a drill box mounted to the frame; therefore the larger 4” wide gauge wheels are not necessary to carry planter boxes that are con-stantly varying in weight as seed is either emptied or being refilled.

Easily adjustable opener down-pressure springs let you adjust from 125 to 500 lbs. of down pressure per opener. Spring geometry in our parallel linkage main-tains the same down-pressure throughout the opener’s travel range at a fraction of the cost of an air bag sys-tem.

We’ve added Connex spring bushings. The corrugated slot design of the Connex spring busing provides much higher surface pressure against its housing than con-ventional straight slotted tension bushings. This pro-vides a superior wear surface around pivot points with no need to find those cumbersome grease zerks to grease.

Variable speed hydraulic drive or mechanical wheel drive available. We have worked to reduce the price of variable rate seeding while still maintaining superior functionality to the point where we can now offer vari-able speed as a very price-competitive option. Wobble Slot Our wobble slot is the only full metal seed delivery system on the market. Bored and machine faced with a sintered metal rotor of bronze alloy composition for friction-free motion. Adjustment is made by moving the shaft at one point on each drill box with infinite spacing from 0 to ¾” for varying seed size, weight and rate.

Adding 32 volumetric wobble slot meters and adding 16 more row units enables you to have a combination twin row vacuum metered planter to plant corn, cotton, soybeans or milo in a twin row configura-tion. It can then quickly convert into a solid standard grain drill for the volumetric metering of soybeans, wheat, rice and

other cereal grains. If you’re looking for a twin row planter and a solid seeding grain drill, look no further than CrustBuster!

Seed tube bounce—or ricochet—can ruin the best meter singulation. Tung-sten carbibe tips ensure that BullsEye seed tubes will long outlast ordinary tubes. With the BullsEye seed tube, the sensor is offset just enough so that it won’t snag the seed.

Achieving even plant spacing for improved yields means achieving singulation, and for that you need to look at the row unit—from seed meter, to seed tube, to ground fur-row, to furrow closure—and this is precisely what CrustBuster did for this unit.

Dual 1" x 12" Rubber or Cast

Rubber closing wheel works well in most conventional to moderate No-Till conditions. Adjustable down-pressure spring provides positive seed to soil contact and improved residue flow.

Equipped with cast iron wheels for tough to moderate No-Till soil and heavy residue conditions.

Dual 2" x 13" Rubber

Used in light fluffy soils that have been conventionally tilled and trenched with 1"x12" closing wheels is a problem. Provides additional float to the row opener.

Single 4" x 12" Soft Center Pinch Crown

Firms both sides of the seed trench in mellow soil conditions. It is advantageous for shallow planting in tilled soil. The center of the trench is capped for soft top to improve plant emergence.

Single 6" x 12" Treaded Flat

A wide, zero-pressure press wheel gently seals the seed trench. Most commonly used in conjunction with 6" inverted closing disc.

Don’t Fall Off the Bed with the Competition!

Competitors’ twin row planters that are configured with all front rows to the left and rear rows to the right tend to pull to the right and use more power. When the rear rows fall off the seed bed, they plant deeper than the front, causing uneven seed depth and more problems when peanut harvest arrives.

CrustBuster’s Balanced Design Pulls Straight!

CrustBuster’s balanced twin row configuration with the front and rear rows positioned as opposites on either side behind the center hitch, pulls smooth, uses less power and keeps the rows on the seed beds for consistent depth control. A critical point you will appreciate at harvest time.

Opener Gauge Wheel OptionsOpener Gauge Wheel Options

Pair of 2½" x 2½" Twin or Single RowsWorks best in firmer flat planted seeding conditions. Provides superior trash and ground flow between twins. A traditional twin row configuration.

Pair of Stacked 4½" Single Rows OnlyWorks only in a single row configuration where one of the twins has been lifted using the "Cranky Crank" system. Converting from twin row planting to single row planted crops (like cotton), the stacked gauge wheels provide the very best opener floatation for shallow planting.

Pair of 4½" x 4½" Twin or Single RowsBest suited for soft soils being planted on the bed. Firms 100% of the center of the bed when twins are set at 8" spacing. Superior opener floatation is achieved.

The ONLY twin planter with the capacity to position 41/2" gauge wheels inside and outside the twin.

Closing Disc Inverted 7" closing disc brings soil back over seed trench allowing the firming wheel to firm the soil over the seed trench.

Liquid Fertilizer 2" x 2" Placement Used to place larger quantities of liquid fertilizer off row without seed burn. 10" dia. disc cuts adjustable depth trench for injection of fertilizer. Located behind planter gauge wheels, reducing fertilizer build-up on row unit.

Fertilizer PumpAgXcel liquid dual pump system. Pressure gauge operation or variable speed operation.

Residue Managers Residue managers are free floating separate of the opener floatation. All wheels have gauging band to allow unit to float and not gouge in uneven terrain. Single wheel only for twin rows or two wheels for single row configuration.

We utilize Flex Shaft Drive technology on our 6020 unit. No more stiff, worn out sprockets and chains! No more worrying about chains being knocked off the sprocket by stubborn root balls and other trash.

Flex Shaft Drives reduce downtime and improve meter accuracy by driving the meter in the smoothest, most reliable manner possible.

Low cost maintenance. No oil-soaked chains. No pointed, worn out sprockets. Less worries and headaches. Just increased run time and decreased downtime. What’s not to love?

State-of-the-art vacuum planter is fully compatible — supportable and interchangeable — with the industry standard.

Even Spacing and Even Emergence

Any company can say they have a great product, but CrustBuster’s Twin Row peanut planter has been proven in the field to produce a good, even stand. For instance, by carrying the weight of the seed on the frame rather than on the opener, you can be assured that you’re always planting at the exact depth you want.

Al and Jeremy Breedlove say that the CrustBuster unit:• Plants 11 acres between fills.

• Filling the CrustBuster big box unit takes ½ to 1⁄3 the time that it would take on another unit.

• Can plant nearly as much in a day with 6 Twin Rows as a 12 single-row box style unit that is twice as long.

• Carries no seed weight on the row unit, which allows for consistent planting depth.

• Allows for adjustability of individual row units so that you can adjust a row unit that may require a little additional attention.

Paul Maxwell says that the CrustBuster unit:• Can plant 15 acres between fills depending on

his population.

• Holds up to 48 bags of seed.

• Can plant at speeds up to 6 miles per hour and still maintain good plant populations.

• Is, most importantly, a well-built machine.

Don’t just take our word for it — several satisfied peanut growers have already tried the new Crustbuster Twin Row peanut planter. See what they have to say:
