WeddingsBut first, the Polurrian story

Our stunning venue is a historic hotel set high on the

cliff overlooking the beautiful Polurrian Cove. The hotel

was designed to bring people together, from all over

Great Britain, originally constructed as a railway hotel

in the late 1800’s it has made its mark on the map with

Guglielmo Marconi staying here whilst sending the first

ever transatlantic radio messages.

In 1909, a fire devastated the original hotel, destroying everything but

the terraces and steps near the tennis courts (which you can still see

today). Soon after, a new hotel was built and the Polurrian became

a hive of activity once again. During the Second World War, the

hotel was an officers’ mess for nearby RAF Predannack, and in 1953,

Hollywood stars Clark Gable and Gene Tierney stayed while filming

the romance adventure 'Never Let Me Go'.

There is a dream-like quality, style and romance at Polurrian on the

Lizard. Over the past 100 years it has evolved but one thing has

remained at the heart of it - it’s a place for bringing people together

and entertaining.

In 2019 the Polurrian was given a new lease of life with an exciting

refurbishment, creating an experience every bit as inspiring as the

surrounding landscape, it really is the most beautiful clifftop

venue to host your wedding day.

Here at the Polurrian we understand that not every wedding requires

complete exclusivity of the hotel. With this in mind we have three perfect

spaces within our hotel to host your ceremony and two private rooms

to host your wedding breakfast and evening reception.

Marconi RoomFor small intimate ceremonies with a maximum of 60 guests and the

wedding breakfast. The Marconi is a traditional room with classic details,

fitting for a timeless wedding to remember.

Cove View SuiteThe Cove View Suite offers the perfect blank canvas for you

to let your imagination run wild, and really make it your own.

This versatile room is bright and airy, with its own bar, private

washroom facilities and views of the sea from its own private

terrace. The Cove View Suite has a maximum capacity of

90 people for the ceremony and 100 for the wedding breakfast.

Our RestaurantWith stunning, panoramic views over the Atlantic, what better backdrop to

pronounce your vows in front of your friends and family. Our restaurant,

decorated and furnished in a modern, contemporary style has a maximum

Your versatile venue

Where the wedding day requires nothing less than the use of the

entire hotel and grounds then we offer the opportunity to hire

Polurrian on the Lizard exclusively for the whole day, for the ultimate,

private celebration.

You’ll have full use of all bedrooms, reception rooms and 12 acres

of clifftop gardens. Our exclusive packages range from one to three

nights giving you time and space to really celebrate.

Our exclusive use package includes:

• Exclusive use of the hotel, including facilities and all 41 bedrooms

We are licenced to hold your ceremony here at Polurrian on the

Lizard and we enjoy watching couples celebrate their commitment

to each other under the roof of our historic hotel. We ask couples to

contact Cornwall Council to book their registrar at an additional cost.

All weddings will abide by government guidelines.

With comfort at the forefront of our minds, each of our bedrooms

at the Polurrian are designed to offer you and your guests

home-from-home relaxation.

With 36 double bedrooms and five family rooms, there is plenty

of space to have all your nearest and dearest stay over.

It is a real treat staying at the Polurrian, bed linen is crisp and

sumptuous providing complete comfort, with luxurious feather

bedding and complimentary toiletries.

The following morning a hearty full Cornish breakfast awaits in our

sea view restaurant overlooking the rolling landscape and breath-

taking Atlantic Ocean. Fresh fruits, juices, warm pastries, yogurts and

a selection of cereals are available, followed, followed by a choice

of cooked breakfasts.
