South Carolina’s Grand Strand, the spectacular 60 mile coastline that stretches from Little River to Georgetown, is one of the top ranked beach destinations in the country. In 2011, Trip Advisor® reviewers ranked Myrtle Beach as the #6 Top Beach Spot in the world for its top-rated options for hotels, vacation rentals, attractions and restaurants.

If you have never stayed with us before, you’ll be amazed at the choices for entertainment and shopping at one-of-a-kind venues like Barefoot Landing, Broadway at the Beach and Market Common. Take the time to explore the newest offerings along the Strand such as the 1.2 mile long Boardwalk and Promenade in downtown Myrtle Beach- home to the extraordinary 200 foot tall Skywheel.

Renowned for its natural beauty, the South Carolina coast features parks and outdoor activities of all kinds, from deep sea fishing to parasailing, kayaking and camping. Get out and explore the historic Lowcountry, where marshes, inlets and rivers will enchant you and the landscapes are unforgettable.

Once the sun goes down, the fun and excitement doesn’t stop. With a collection of award winning live entertainment theaters, mini golf courses, amusement parks and night clubs, you’ll never run out of vacation thrills and memories.

In addition to being a fabulous beach resort, the Grand Strand also offers world class dining at more than 1,600 restaurants. From all-you-can-eat buffets to hand tossed pizza shops to the best in fine dining, the Myrtle Beach area truly has it all.

Here are a few tips to ensure you have a safe stay-

Beach ordinances are posted at public beach accesses. Please be aware of these regulations that apply to all locations:

Sea Oats - It is illegal to cut, break, or otherwise destroy sea oat plants, beach grass, and sand fencing.

Animals - Check each locality for animal restrictions as dogs and horses are not allowed on some beaches.

Glass Containers - All glass containers are prohibited.

Fireworks - Discharging fireworks is illegal.

Swimming - Swimming is not permitted beyond 50 yards from the beach or in water over shoulder height.

Piers - Jumping or diving from piers is prohibited.

Dining

Among the joys vacations have to offer is the special delight of dining out! With over 1600 restaurants, the choice may prove to be a bit difficult. But what a problem to have! The Grand Strand is anchored at both ends by seafood capitals – Calabash, NC and Little River, SC to the north and Pawleys Island, Murrells Inlet and Georgetown in the south. In the center of Myrtle Beach you will find new upscale dining in the Market Common and at the north end of Myrtle Beach is everyone’s old favorite – Restaurant Row. Scattered throughout the area are countless restaurants that have earned a loyal following over the years by serving great food with great service. Try something new this year!

For years, South Carolina’s Hammock Coast has quietly given beach lovers, golfers, families, outdoor enthusiasts and history buffs, a vacation destination infused with Southern charm and natural beauty.Made up of the communities of Pawleys Island, Murrells Inlet, Garden City, litchfield Beach and Georgetown, each area has its own distinct personality, which combined, form the unique attraction of this area. You won’t have trouble claiming your spot on our beaches. Garden City, Litchfield and Pawleys Island all have spacious beaches and pristine salt marshes for soaking up the sun, exploring, or catching some fish and blue crabs for dinner. Pawleys Island, the oldest Seaside Resort in America continues to be a great place to enjoy a relaxed, laid back vacation. The island has no commercial development; however, just over the short causeway, there are first class restaurants and boutique shopping for when (if!) you want a break from relaxing on the beach.Known as the Seafood Capital of South Carolina, Murrells Inlet is a sleepy little fishing village on a protected inlet, and boasts some of the best seafood in the entire South! The Murrells Inlet Marshwalk is a boardwalk on the banks of the Inlet, and allows visitors to truly experience the salt-marsh ecosystem along with restaurants, shops, parasailing, jet skiing and fishing excursions.

Between Murrells Inlet and the Litchfield Beaches you will discover Brookgreen Gardens and Huntington Beach State Park-recognized as one of the top birding spots in North America, also offers camping and access to a pristine undeveloped beach. Brookgreen Gardens houses the most significant collection of figurative sculpture in a beautiful outdoor setting and the only ac-credited zoo on the coast of SC.

For the history buff, Georgetown is South Carolina’s third oldest city, founded in 1729. It also boasts a charming downtown historic district with restaurants and boutique shopping along the Harborwalk. Local tour companies provide a glimpse into the history of the area by land and by river.

Come visit the Hammock Coast for a different type of vacation. Rediscover life with no schedules, rediscover your family, rediscover nature and rediscover yourself. The only itinerary you need is a tide chart.

The Hammock Shops Village: Celebrating 75 years as a lowcountry favorite.

From legendary personalities to historic places, the South Carolina Lowcountry can claim its share and more of standouts. And for most of the past 75 years, The Hammock Shops Village in Paw-leys Island has earned its place on this distinguished list of the famous and noteworthy.

Established in 1938, the Ham-mock Shops Village in Pawleys Island has become a perennial favorite among in-the-know shop-pers and diners. From an original small shop alongside U.S. 17 that still features the famed Pawleys Island rope hammock, the vil-lage has grown over the years to include numerous historic struc-tures spread throughout a beauti-ful parklike setting of oaks and pines. Along the Savannah-style brick walkway and winding paths bordered with azaleas and camel-lias are numerous places to pause, relax and savor this wonderfully laid-back place.

Extra special care is taken to ensure that every establishment here is always a welcome alter-native to so many homogenized shopping and dining experiences found elsewhere. More than 20 one-of-a-kind shops are filled with everything from fashionable clothing and shoes, to handcrafted collectibles and jewelry. There are shops with vintage candies, stylish kitchen and home décor items, soothing candles, and unique toys, books and pet supplies. You can even stop by and watch the art of hammock weaving and sweetgrass basket making being demonstrat-ed each day.

The Hammock Shops is also home to some of the most talked about cuisine in the Lowcountry. Nosh is open for lunch and dinner and offers masterfully created dishes featuring the finest of locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. New on the scene is bisQit, serv-ing made-from-scratch biscuit sandwiches in the morning, and a better sort of burger and fries for

lunch and dinner. For something a bit lighter, Island Dogs boasts a great menu that includes hot dogs, sandwiches and ice cream.

Located on Highway 17 in Pawleys Island, Hammock Shops Village is open daily, seven days a week.

A mere 12 miles from Myrtle Beach, Conway is a jewel of “Americana.” Conway is one of the oldest towns in South Carolina. Originally named Kingston, the town was created in 1734 as part of Royal Governor Rob-ert Johnson’s Township Scheme. It was laid out on a riverbluff in the center of what became Horry County.

Many area residents fought in the American Revolu-tion and small engagements were fought near Kings-ton. Francis Marion, who was known as the Swamp Fox, had an encampment near Kingston just across the Waccamaw River.

After the war, patriotic citizens wanted to discard the name that honored Great Britain’s King George II. The County’s name was changed to Horry (pronounced O-Ree) in honor of General Peter Horry in 1801 and a courthouse was established in Kingston. Kingston’s name was later changed to Conwayborough for General Robert Conway.

On North Carolina’s southern coast is Calabash, the picturesque one-time fishing village that modestly calls itself the “Seafood Capital of the World.” This tiny port shaded by large oaks has become synonymous with a style of cooking that involves corn meal battering and frying.

Some say it all started in the 1930’s in a sleepy little fishing village nestled between inlets and marshes, just over the North Carolina border. Fishermen brought in their catch and were met by the locals to see what was caught and what they could buy. Calabash quickly became known for its fine quality of fresh shrimp and fish.

Clinton Morse, a local businessman, began serving up tubs of deep-fired seafood that had been dipped in a light seasoned batter, cooked golden brown and served very hot. “Calabash style” seafood was born – conjuring up his recipe with the image of massive quantities and varieties of seafood. Hush puppies accompany every meal. Fried to a golden brown, they often reach the table before your chair is warm.

One of the reasons that visitors return to the Myrtle Beach area year after year is all the new and exciting at-tractions it has to offer. This year is no exception!

The Hollywood Wax Museum Entertainment Center will be an instant landmark in Myrtle Beach and a high-light of your visit to Broadway at the Beach. It is the only wax museum in the country devoted entirely to celebrity figures. The two-story Museum will you into the world of Hollywood Stars and allow you to get close to some of the most famous people in show business, recreated so faithfully that you’d swear they were alive. You’ll find a mix of current A-list stars, Academy Award winners, classic entertainers, and music superstars. From John Wayne to Johnny Depp and Audrey Hepburn to Angelina Jolie, there are wax figures for everyone to enjoy.

The Museum also houses two additional amazing attractions- Hannah’s Maze of Mirrors and the fun and

scary Outbreak, Dread of the Undead. That’s right- zom-bies!!

The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk & Promenade opened in May 2010 and runs 1.2 miles along the oceanfront from Banditos Restaurant to the 2nd Avenue Pier at 2nd Av-enue North. Travel and Leisure magazine recently ranked the boardwalk the number two oceanfront boardwalk in the United States.

The boardwalk has been extended by 425ft from the 14th Ave. Pier up to Banditos Restaurant. The construc-tion added about two blocks to the boardwalk to make Banditos the last stop on the strip.

NASCAR Speedpark at Broadway at the Beach has closed and reopens in May 2014 as Broadway Grand Prix. Experience great Go Kart racing and exciting thrill rides as well as new attractions coming soon!

Part of the reason for that is the

fact that there are over a hundred golf

courses located in a 60-mile stretch of

coastline known as the Grand Strand.

You can play a different course every

day for three months and still have new

courses to look forward to. Another

reason for that label is that here you

can find some of the highest quality

golf courses in the country. Golf Digest

recently named several of the beach’s

courses to the “Top 100 Public Courses

in America” list for the 2013 – 2014

season. Thirty-six of the area’s courses

hold a rank of four and a half stars or

higher. Throw in nationally-known golf

schools, top-quality practice facilities,

restaurants and nightlife and it’s obvious

why we’re the Golf Capital of the World!

South Strand

Built on two of South Carolina’s historic plantations along the scenic Waccamaw River, the Heritage Club is a favorite of Grand Strand golfers. Over 600 acres of gi-ant magnolias, freshwater lakes and marsh-es have been transformed into a golf course that rivals any course in the Southeast. Recently honored by Golf Digest as 46th among the “Top 100 Public Golf Courses in America” for 2007-2008 and recently rated HHHH 1/2 stars in “Places to Play,” the Heritage Club is a mixture of pure Southern charm and hospitality. The Heritage Club has announced that all of its greens were renovated and Champions Bermuda is the new putting surface. The clubhouse has been renovated and upgraded to enhance guests’ experience.

True Blue Plantation and Caledonia Golf & Fish Club are the only companion cours-es by the same designer on Golf Digest’s list of “America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses 2003- 2006.” Architect Mike Strantz built Caledonia in 1994 and the acclaim was im-mediate, including a number 30 ranking on Golf Magazine’s “Top 100 Courses You Can Play.” Often compared to Augusta National for its exquisite style and floral beauty, Cale-donia’s Champions Ultra Dwarf Bermuda greens are true championship quality. Just

across Kings River Road, Strantz followed up four years later with True Blue and earned a “Top 10 Best New Public Course” honor from Golf Digest. Set on a Colonial indigo plantation of the same descriptive name, True Blue features surprising elevation changes, huge fairways and excellent Tif Eagle Bermuda greens.

Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club, a Nicklaus Signature course, features a classic Lowcountry design that you can play over and over and never have the same shot twice. With subtle greens enveloped by sand bunkers, challenging fairways dotted with water and unique obstacles evident on every hole, this is a player’s course that demands strategy, ingenuity and concen-tration. Pawleys Plantation was ranked by Golf Digest among South Carolina’s ‘Top 25 Layouts’ in 2001. Golf Digest has further awarded Pawleys Plantation HHHH 1/2 stars in its ‘Best Places to Play’. Other ac-colades include Golf For Women’s ‘Top 10 Women Friendly Courses in America’ 1999 and Travel & Leisure Golf’s ‘4-Star Golf’ in 2001.

The Tradition Golf Club is a championship course that boasts the proud traditions of the great courses that have stood the test of time. Amenities abound at the Tradition, from comfortable dining, to the elaborate

practice facility. The Tradition was awarded HHHH 1/2 Stars - Golf Digest Places to Play 2008.

Three of the South Strand’s premier layouts are Prime Times Signature Courses that are also part of the oceanfront Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort. Architect Tom Jackson built River Club Golf Course around a network of spring-fed ponds and added more than 100 bunkers, but the immaculate Cham-pion Bermuda greens are River Club’s most outstanding feature. The semi-private Litchfield Country Club offers limited public play on its Willard Byrd designed course with plenty of doglegs and fine TifDwarf Bermuda greens. Set among the former ricefields of two historic plantations, Willbrook Plantation Golf Club is a Dan Maples creation with Champion Ultradwarf Bermuda greens that was named on Golf For Women’s “Top 50” list in 2010.

The Tournament Players Club of Myrtle Beach presents its golfers the opportunity to see and feel what it is like to be inside the ropes of a tour caliber course. The course was designed by acclaimed architect Tom Fazio, and has been a host of the Senior Tour Championship. Enjoy perfectly groomed fairways and greens and venture forth-through towering pines and expan-sive wetlands. The TPC of Myrtle Beach was

recently awarded 5 stars by Golf Digest It is the only course on the Grand Strand to receive such an honor. Recently the course greens were replaced with MiniVerde Ultra-dwarf – the same type of grass that the PGA Tour used in its renovation of the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass. The greenside bunkers have been refurbished with new drainage and sand.

Blackmoor features the only Grand Strand design by legendary South African pro Gary Player. Named “Golf Course of the Year” in 2001 by the Myrtle Beach Golf Course Own-ers Association, Blackmoor offers groomed TifEagle Bermuda greens in a scenic former-plantation setting. Add this enjoyable Player challenge to complete your Myrtle Beach golf package.

In Wachesaw Plantation East, architect Clyde Johnston has created an alluring taste of Scottish design. Located in the scenic fishing village of Murrells Inlet, just 20 minutes south of the Myrtle Beach Interna-tional Airport, Wachesaw Plantation East Golf Club is a championship 18-hole facility built on the site of a former rice plantation. This exhilarating design has been the site of four nationally-televised, professional golf tournaments on the LPGA Tour: the 1997 Susan G. Koman International, the 1998 & 1999 City of Hope Myrtle Beach Classic, and the 2000 Kathy Ireland/Greens.com Classic. Wachesaw Plantation East has also been named the 2007 Myrtle Beach “Golf Course of the Year” by Myrtle Beach Golf Course Owners Association.

Wicked Stick Golf Links is the Myrtle Beach area’s only John Daly Signature Course. With very few trees in a Scottish-style landscape, Daly’s inspiration is evident on the doublewide fairways separated by huge mounds and the short par fours that invite visiting players to “grip it and rip it.” With big TifDwarf Bermuda greens, a prac-tice facility and a convenient location near the airport, Wicked Stick is a fun addition to any Grand Strand golf package.

Prestwick Country Club features a co-design by father-son architects Pete and P.B. Dye that was recently named by Golf Digest among its “Five Best-Kept Secret Courses.” A host of the South Carolina Mid-Amateur Championship and a US Open qualifier, Prestwick is a sculpted layout with deep bunkers, giant berms and those famous Dye bulkheads framing many of the TifDwarf greens.

North Strand

Legends Resort is one of the Grand Strands finest stay and play facilities. Leg-ends guests enjoy two and three bedroom golf villas, a lighted 30-acre practice facility and an onsite Scottish tavern, the Ailsa Pub. The resort is home to three award- winning courses. The Heathland is a Tom Doak gem where the natural contours of the land

dictate the flow of the course. This links course’s windswept hills and deep-faced bunkers are just a few of the challenges that await each player. The greens were recently renovated and Champion Bermuda is the new putting surface. This course is a true test of Old World golf. The Moorland is a P.B. Dye design and was recently name by Golf Digest as one of the “Fifty Toughest Courses in America” at #37. It remains one of the most unique courses on the East Coast. Dye’s panache for multilevel fairways and greens and signature bulkheads has transformed this land into one of Myrtle Beach’s most requested courses. The Legends Parkland stands on its own merits. The Parkland is modeled after the style of architects Alister MacKenzie (Augusta National) and George Thomas (Riviera Country Club) and was designed to compliment nature so closely as to make the layout indistinguishable from nature itself. Enjoy tree-lined fairways, vast natural areas, substantial undulating greens and experience a day of exceptional golf. All three of the Legends courses have been awarded HHHH 1/2 stars from Golf Digest.

Arrowhead Country Club is one of Myrtle Beach’s premier 27-Hole golf complexes. With a canvas of 419 Bermuda grass fairways and MiniVerde Bermuda grass greens, the team of Ray Floyd (4 time major championship winner - 1969 & 1982 PGA, 1976 Masters & 1986 U.S. Open) and Tom Jackson have created a 27-hole master-piece along the scenic Intracoastal Waterway. Arrowhead features three unique 9-hole tracts: The Waterway, The Cypress and The Lakes, each one with a feel all its own. Arrowhead is conveniently located five minutes from the Airport and within fifteen minutes of downtown Myrtle Beach. Ask about the seasonal special where you can play all 27 for the 18 hole rate!

Wild Wing Plantation is home to the award winning 18-hole Avo-cet Course and the 9-hole Hummingbird Course. Designed by U.S. Open and two-time PGA Champion Larry Nelson, the Avocet features unique greenside mounding, extensive fairways and green contouring, and an imaginative routing plan that includes several double fairways and a double green. Golfers have many choices to make when they play the Avocet Course. The course also features exceptional MiniVerde Bermuda greens. Wild Wing was named “Myrtle Beach Golf Course of the Year” and “South Carolina Golf Course of the Year” in 2002. Wild Wing Plantation has recently won awards from Golf Digest “Best Places to Play” (2008-2009) with four star course rating on both the Avocet and Hummingbird courses. Wild Wing also won a Zagat survey award for “America’s Top Golf Courses” (2009/2010). Wild Wing uses the “Single Tee” method to start players on both courses so there is no delay at the turn. Wild Wing is being redeveloped into a first class residential neighbor-hood with great amenities including golf, tennis, boating, swim-ming, and a club atmosphere. The golf course is available for public and resort play and is offered by all the leading area golf packagers.

Myrtle Beach National Golf Club is home to three Prime Times Signature Courses including: SouthCreek, West Course, and the renowned King’s North. Arnold Palmer, along with Francis Duane, designed all three layouts: King’s North, opened in 1973 and totally refurbished in 1996, was most recently honored by inclusion on the Golf Digest list of “America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses 2007-2008.” The North’s Champion UltraDwarf Bermuda greens are superb and “The Gambler” is one of golf’s best risk-reward holes. SouthCreek was named among America’s “Top 100” by Golf For Women in 2002- 2003 and features Champion Bermuda greens on a shotmaker’s layout. The West Course sports Champion Bermuda greens as well, in a parkland-style design with minimal rough. This unique trio of Arnold Palmer courses at Myrtle Beach National is available with Prime Times packages that can include golf villa or oceanfront accommodations.

World Tour Golf Links is a truly unique facility with designs inspired by famous courses like Augusta National, Doral, Pinehurst, Pine Valley, St. Andrews and Winged Foot. Named “National Golf Course of the Year” for 2004 by the National Golf Course Owners Association, the bentgrass greens are well-conditioned, bronze

Myrtle Beach Golfplaques on each tee box describe the hole’s historic significance and the clubhouse features a golf “Hall of Fame”. Include World Tour on a Grand Strand package for a de-lightful international excursion.

Shaftesbury Glen Golf & Fish Club is the Myrtle Beach Golf Course of the Year. It is the newest Glens Golf Group course by top-flight architect Clyde Johnston. A traditional parkland-style design with meandering fairways in an expansive rural setting, the elevated A-1 bentgrass greens at Shaftesbury are beautifully conditioned and considered by local players to be the region’s best. Complete Glens Golf pack-ages include discounted greens fees at this modern Grand Strand classic.

Myrtlewood Golf Club offers golfers a choice of two 18-hole layouts conveniently located in the heart of Myrtle Beach. The Palmetto Course is a traditional design with fairways that gently twist and turn their way towards large, TifDwarf greens. The eighteenth offers a dramatic finish along the Intracoastal Waterway. The Palmetto Course was honored by Golf Magazine as the “Local’s Favorite Course”- 2005. In contrast, the PineHills Course is a modern classic designed by Arthur Hills. Contoured fairways and undulating greens provide an excellent test of golf, one you’re sure to enjoy. PineHills was honored by Golf Digest as a “Top Ten Course” in Myrtle Beach.

Pine Lakes Country Club has been an icon in the Myrtle Beach golf scene since 1927, is also referred to as “The Granddaddy.” After an extensive renovation to the golf course and clubhouse, you can now experience the Granddaddy as it was in the spirit of the 1920s. Many of the historical golf holes were maintained while twelve new holes were created to improve the golf experience that visitors from around the world have come to associate with Pine Lakes. The creation of an extraordinary, four-star design golf club, true to the classic architecture of Pine Lakes, has achieved a dynamic expansion, historical restoration and full blossoming of this prominent facility.

Grande Dunes Resort Club was named one of the “Top 100 Public Golf Courses” in America by Golf Digest Magazine in 2011-2012. The Resort Club was also awarded “Course of the Year” by the National Golf Course Owners Association in 2009. Golf at Grande Dunes Resort Club feels completely natural yet effortlessly refined. The expan-sive Bermuda grass fairways ripple with subtle undulations onto large, modestly contoured Champion UltraDwarf Bermuda greens. The superior design unfolds itself in a relaxed, gracious manner enticing golf-ers with beauty while taunting them with danger. Fair but challenging, each golf hole presents a different problem to test golfers at any level.

Arcadian Shores combines the best of Mother Nature with the best elements of a modern golf layout. Arcadian offers enticing lakes, deviously placed bunkers, tree-lined Bermuda fairways and the distinctive contouring presents the ultimate golf chal-lenges of man and nature. Lush Tif-Eagle Bermuda greens with 64 creatively-placed sand bunkers and natural lakes woven in and out of the fairways make this a chal-lenge you will long remember. Hole 13 at Arcadian Shores is considered to be one of the top 18 holes in Myrtle Beach. Designed by Rees Jones, Arcadian Shores accommo-

dates any level of golfer with its selection of five tee boxes.

Waterway Hills Golf Club is a 27-hole Prime Times Signature Course designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. The experience begins with a gondola ride taking golfers across the Intracoastal Waterway to the clubhouse where play starts Oaks, Lakes and Ravine courses with Bermuda greens. This 4 Star awarded course by Golf Digest is a North Strand classic and should be consid-ered as part of your next golf package.

Barefoot Resort & Golf is one of the most exceptional golf resorts in Myrtle Beach. With names like Tom Fazio, Davis Love III, Greg Norman and Pete Dye, golfers know that they will be treated to some of the finest golf architecture in the world. These four onsite courses were opened in 2000 and feature top- quality Champion UltraDwarf greens, a state of the art lighted driving range, short game practice facility and full service restaurant and bar. The Norman Course, ranked “Top 30 in Myrtle Beach” by Golf Digest, is a southwestern style design with vast waste areas and several eye-opening holes along the Intracoastal Waterway. Golf-styles Carolina proclaimed it one of the “100 Must-Play Courses of the Carolinas.” The Love Course is a matchless creation that has elevated greens and generous fairways. The course has it’s own replica ruins of an antebellum plantation. Golf Digest honored the course as #53 among “Americas Top 100 Public Courses” and also holds the Golf Digest #1 ranking for all of Myrtle Beach courses. Golf Magazine says it’s one of the “Top 100 Courses You Can Play.” The Fazio Course just keeps adding to its growing reputation. It is a design that will delight all skill levels of golfers and is a terrific test of your game. It features undisturbed wetlands, native flow-ers and plants. You will also enjoy an abundance of wildlife. Golf Digest ranked it #81 among “America’s Top 100 Public Courses” in 2005, and it also holds a ranking of #6 in Myrtle Beach by Golf Digest. Golf Magazine says it’s “One of the Best Courses Near You.” The Dye Course is the Pete Dye centerpiece of Barefoot’s semi-private club and offers a variety of bunkers, waste areas and Dye’s signature bulkheads. The Dye Club has been the host of the Monday After the Masters Pro-Am since 2003. The Dye Course was named both the Myrtle Beach and SC state “Golf Course of the Year” for 2013. This foursome of top rated courses can be part of a complete vacation through Barefoot Golf Vacations or lead-ing area packagers.

Possum Trot Golf Club is a Glens Golf Group course designed by architect Russell Breeden. Great Tifdwarf Bermuda greens and generous fairways ensure a fun-for-all round at Possum Trot, which is also home to one of the area’s largest practice facilities at the on-site Glens Golf Academy. Greens fee discounts, profes-sional instruction and accommodations can be part of a complete Glens Golf package.

Nestled like a sleeping giant between the Intracoastal Waterway and Cherry Grove, the legendary Tidewater Golf Club offers the perfect combination of natural beauty and challenging play. Seamlessly marrying the game to its surroundings, architect Ken Tomlinson evokes the style and majesty of some of the game’s greatest venues and delivers an experience that puts this course on the must-play list of many Grand Strand golfers.

Two additional Prime Times Signature Courses are located in the North Strand area. Long Bay Club is a unique Jack Nicklaus Sig-nature Course with Champion UltraDwarf Bermuda greens, deep pot bunkers, vast waste areas and mounding along the fairways. Close by, Aberdeen Country Club is a 27-hole course designed by Tom Jackson that features Tif-Eagle Bermuda greens on three, 9-hole layouts with a Scottish theme in different natural settings.

Located in Little River, SC, River Hills Golf & Country Club is a Tom Jackson parkland-style design blending modern and tradi-tional elements. The fairways of this 18-hole course make their way through a picturesque, heavily-wooded terrain but in rolling hills, unusual for a coastal course, are River Hills’ signature feature. The course was nominated as “Best New Course” in 1989 by Golf Digest and recently underwent a $2 million renovation.

The crown jewels of the Glens Golf Group collection are located on opposite sides of Highway 17 near Little River. Glen Dornoch Waterway Golf Links is designer Clyde Johnston’s brilliant trib-ute to legendary architect Donald Ross. Named a “Top 10” Myrtle Beach area course by Golf Digest among its many accolades, Glen Dornoch features big Bermuda greens with bump-and-run

fringes and spectacular finishing holes on both nines that overlook the Intracoastal Waterway. Heather Glen Golf Links offers 27 holes designed by Johnston and Willard Byrd. Acclaimed as “America’s Best New Public Course” in 1987 by Golf Digest, the three Scottish-inspired nines are set in a virtual nature preserve of old growth oaks and waterfowl habitat. Located on-site is Village at the Glens, a perfect accom-modations choice for North Strand golfers who want spacious lodgings with all of the amenities. A complete Glens Golf package features significant discounts for both golf and accommodations.

The wide, links-style fairways at Farmstead Golf Links gently follow the lay of the land to create a collection of shot-making op-portunities that reward superior play from golfers of many styles. Whether the flags are noisily flapping or eerily still, hitting it straight is the key to scoring well at Farm-stead. It may be wide open with generous landing areas, but scoot one off a fairway and you are stuck in the love grass, where your next move is to drop a provisional. And as your round comes to a close, the only hole in 2 states, the legendary 767-yard, par 6 finishing hole unfolds over a half-mile of beautifully manicured turf to offer a final test of your skills.

Respected architect Willard Byrd put his personal stamp on Meadowlands Golf Club with distinctive parkland features that follow the lay of the land through mature woods bordered by serene meadows, pristine lakes and vast wetlands. Five sets of tees, an open layout, well defined hazards and exemplary attention to detail create a rewarding round for everyone who comes ready to play.

For over twenty years Oyster Bay has been a favorite of Myrtle Beach golfers. Oyster Bay is a rare, harmonious blend of the penal, heroic and strategic philosophies of golf course architecture. A course where variety and innovation are the name of the game. Golf Digest has repeatedly rated Oyster Bay HHHH 1/2 stars and ranked it the “Best New Resort Course of the Year.” The clubhouse has been renovated and upgraded to enhance guests’ experience.

Ocean Ridge Plantation is home to four award-winning courses. Lion’s Paw Golf Links was designed by Willard Byrd with MiniVerde™ ultra-dwarf greens in a links setting where big hardwoods frame the rolling fairways. Lion’s Paw has been award-ed four stars by Golf Digest. Panther’s Run Golf Links, a Tim Cate design is bordered by a pristine nature preserve. Tiger’s Eye Golf Links is one of Tim Cate’s greatest cre-ations and is a regular on Golf Digest’s list of “America’s 100 Greatest Public Courses”. Tiger’s Eye was once again ranked in the Top 10 among GOLF Magazine’s Top Public courses State by State for 2013 and the par 3 11th hole at Tiger’s Eye Golf Links was listed on the NC Golf Panel’s “Dream 18.” Leopard’s Chase Golf Club opened to rave reviews in the spring of 2007. The level of detail for this spectacular layout creates a series of flowing, picturesque holes unlike anything in the area. GolfWeek Magazine ranked Leopard’s Chase number 5 in NC on their list of “The Best Courses You Can Play- State by State” for 2013.

Bald Head Island Club is a unique golf des-tination located on one of North Carolina’s most beautiful barrier islands accessible only by passenger ferry or private boat. The Bald Head Island golf course is a stunning design by acclaimed architect George Cobb that was recently completely renovated by noted architect Tim Cate. The course wraps around freshwater lagoons, through a maritime forest and across dunes in the midst of the Atlantic Ocean. Resort accom-modations, fine dining, an array of recre-ational opportunities and pristine island beaches make Bald Head Island a vacation experience in a class by itself. The Bald Head Island Club golf course was ranked 12th among the “Top 50 Myrtle Beach Golf Courses” by Golf Digest and “Top Three Golf Communities in North Carolina” by Travel+Leisure Magazine.
