The focus of today’s feast is the total self-giving of Jesus. The bishop’s stewardship pastoral reminds us that “the glory and the boast of Christian stewards lie in mirroring, however poorly, the stewardship of Jesus

Christ, who gave and still gives all he has and is, in order to be faithful to God’s will and carry

through to completion his redemptive stewardship of human beings and their world”

We pray for those who died in these three countries. Let us remember to pray for all those who are in harms way. We pray for peacemakers throughout the world. Let us pray for the sick and the dying and for all those who care for them. We pray for the homeless, the hungry, the unemployed, the poor and all those who are in great need. Let us pray for those who struggle with any form of addiction or compulsion. We pray for all those who are in recovery programs and for those who long for recovery. Let us pray for those who suffer from anxiety, depression or any form of mental illness. Let us remember those who have no one to pray for them. Let us pray for our parish and for one another. We ask God to bless the days of summer with abundant grace and peace.

• Litany to Christ Our Lord: Jesus Says; I am the Bread of Life. I am the Bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats this bread, he or she will live forever. Lord, give us this bread always. Jesus says: I am the vine, and you are the branches. Whoever remains in me will bear much fruit, for you can do nothing without me. Lord, we believe that you are the Holy One who has come from God. Jesus says: I am the gate. Whoever comes in by me will be saved. Lord, Lord! Let us in! Jesus says: I am the light of the world. Whoever follows we will have the l light of life and will never walk in darkness. Send us your light and your truth! Jesus says: I am the God Shepherd. I know my sheep and they know me. And I am, willing to die for them. Lord, make us one flock with one

shepherd. Jesus says: I am the Resurrection and the Life. Whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Lord, I do believe that you are Messiah, the Son of God. Jesus says: I am the one who knows everyone’s thoughts and wishes. I will repay each one of you according to what you have done. Examine me, O God, and know my heart. Jesus says: I am descended from the family of David. I am the bright morning star. Son of David, have mercy on me. Jesus says: I am Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Lord, you show us that the first shall be last and the last first. Lord Jesus Christ, the world’s true sun, ever rising, never setting, whose life-giving warmth engenders, preserves, nourishes and gladdens all things in heaven and on earth; shine in my soul. I pray, scatter the night of sin, and the clouds of error. Blaze within me, that I may go my way without stumbling, taking no part in the shameful deeds of those who wander in the dark, but all my life long walking as one native to the light. Amen. Dear Friends, Last weekend we celebrated the Feast of the Most Holy Trinity. This weekend we celebrate the Feast of the Body and Blood of Christ. Both feasts call us to live a life that is centered on the message of the gospel proclaimed by Jesus, namely that the reign of God is in our midst and that we are invited to live out our lives in Trinitarian love, a love that is nourished ad strengthened by the Eucharistic presence of the Lord Jesus in our midst. This Eucharistic presence that we celebrate and are called to live far transcends the Eucharistic presence in the reserved Eucharist in the tabernacle and the elements of bread and wine that are transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit when we celebrate Mass. This feast of the Body and Blood of Christ

reminds us of our call to be for one another the presence of the God. Every time we come together and celebrate the gift of the Eucharist we are reminded that we are to become what we celebrate, namely the presence of God to one another. We are challenged to become the presence of Christ to one another! To be the presence of Christ in our world means that we become a people who incarnate the message that Christ proclaimed. The gift of the Eucharist calls us to open our heart, minds and eyes to others and to see how intimately we are connected with one another. The Eucharist calls us to life of service and a life of community. The service we are called to and the community to which we called to be a part of is one that transcends all limitations and all boundaries. The Eucharist indeed is a gift that is meant to widen our horizons so that we come to see how interconnected we are with all creation. The Eucharistic presence that we celebrate when we gather together is a microcosm of much greater reality. It is when we truly live the Eucharist that the presence of the Risen Lord in our midst becomes the meaningful reality that it is meant to be. Every time we gather together to celebrate this gift we come as needy people, people who find our peace and our strength in the presence of our God who calls us to be one not only with God but with one another. This week let us pray that we truly become the living presence of the Lord Jesus, that we are people who hunger and thirst for justice and peace, people of gentle strength and compassion, people of mercy and forgiveness, people who long for unity among all and people who truly are what we celebrate. Peace, Fr. Steve

PARISH SOCIAL MINISTRY

• Food Pantry .......

Please remember to bring a can of food each week for the pantry. Needed food items: tuna, spaghetti sauce, cereal, cooking oil, beans, macaroni and cheese, canned fruit, canned vegetables, rice, jelly, mayo, juice.

• Hearing Aid Assistance – While the purchase of hearing aids for many is only a dream, help is available for those who lack the resources to purchase hearing aids. The Starkey Hearing Foundation works to make hearing aids available to those in need. The Foundation has a program that serves low income individuals residing in the US to acquire hearing aids. Hearing aids are provided through an application process to those low income individuals permanently living in the US who have no other resource to acquire hearing aids. All applicants must meet the program’s financial criteria, complete the application process and be approved for hearing aids. Verification of the applicant’s financial situation and proof of a need for hearing aids are a part of the application process. Hear Now works with licensed practitioners, in the applicant’s area, willing to donate their time and talent to assist clients with the fitting and follow up process. The applicant is responsible for the cost of the batteries and repairs. Once an application is approved, the aids are given to the applicant at no additional cost. If this program can help you, or if you want more information, please call the Hear Now program at 1-800-328-8602 and ask for the Hear Now program.

UN MENSAJE DE NUESTRO

PARROCO

Paz. Padre Esteban
