Davie Joins Simmons Firm

- J-'atanei R. Davie, who was president of Albany Savings Bank Tof 18 years, has been appointed comptroller of Simmons Ma­chine Tool Corp., 1700 Broadway, Menands.

Mr. Davie retired from banking duties on Jan. 31, 1962 when he reached the manda­tory retirement age of 65. "Now it's time to retire, they say. It's not my wish, though," he remarked at the time.

Since then Mr. Davie, a resi­dent of Chestnut Hill Road, Loudonville, has served as fin­ance chairman of the Hudson Valley Girl Scout Council and has golfed at Schuyler Meadows, Country Club.

He is a director of the Albany Chapter of the American Red Cross, also a member of the Fort Orange Club and a past president of the Greater Albany

A—YES, I am well aware of it. When a minor (a person not yet 21) has money, that money normally cannot be used to buy securities under the Gift to Mi­nors* Act.

For that matter, when the minor is the owner of money, it is just about impossible to use the money to buy secur­ities or Mything else, without a great deal of red tape. Very often this would involve legal action, court approval, etc.
