The Foundation Board has a busy fall schedule of events, and you are invited to participate with them! The annual golf tournament, a major Foundation fundraiser, is scheduled for Friday, October 9 at Buffalo Valley Golf Course. For only $60 per player, enjoy lunch from Chick-fil-A at the Crossings, eighteen rounds of golf, and an opportunity to win fabulous prizes. Prior to the tournament, practice your putt in the putting contest sponsored by George Granger, and win grocery cards. You do not have to take part in the tournament in order to enter the putting contest, and all of your $20 entry fee will be used to help fund the Christmas Box project. Register today at Memorial Park Community Center, or mail your entry form to: JCSC Foundation, 510 Bert Street, Johnson City, TN 37601.

The Foundation Board congratulates the Johnson City Senior Center on receiving an Arts Builds Communities Grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission! The $1,400 grant will be matched by the Foundation; proceeds will be used for the Senior Chorale at the Center. This is the second

year that the Senior Center has been awarded the grant to support the Senior Chorale. If you enjoy choral music and performing, why not come and be a part of this vibrant, growing program!

The Foundation has challenged itself to increase Christmas Box deliveries this year to at least 125 needy senior adults in our community. Christmas box recipients are screened through the Centers In-Home Service Coordinator according to need and to avoid duplication of services, so that the boxes are delivered where the need is the greatest. But the Foundation will need your assistance to meet the goal. You can help in three ways:

Watch your mailbox for the annual appeal letter and give generously.

Participate in our Eight Weeks of Giving Campaign. Each week, beginning in October, we will highlight a different item that is needed; you may bring one or more of that item and donate it at the Center.

Attend the Mele Kalikimaka Christmas Box social on Thursday, November 5, featuring the beach-themed music of Mark Larkins. Enjoy Hawaiian-Christmas themed refreshments and dancing. You will also have opportunity during the evening to donate for specific items for the

Christmas boxes.Thank you for your support of the Johnson City

Senior Center - we are proud to be a part of your Senior Center, engaging adults in Active Life through Active Living!

    Eight Weeks of Giving Campaign
