George Farra Membership Committee

Chairman

Meridian Hills Country Club Annual Meeting

The Club’s Annual Meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 15th, 2011 beginning at 6:00 p.m.

Please join us following the meeting for

complimentary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.

Dinner reservations will be available in all our dining facilities as well. Call Member Services at 255-2496 to make reservations for both

the Annual Meeting and dinner that evening.

Fall has finally arrived in Indianapolis and the memory of a hot and dry summer has begun to fade away. While many of our outdoor activities are winding down until next spring, the fall and early winter months are filled with several seasonal events such as Halloween at the Club, Fall Wine Dinner & Wine Tasting, Thanksgiving, meeting Santa and of course, Christmas events and New Year’s.

We mention these events to remind all members that our Club is active nearly every month of the year (January and February are a little slow!), and our interest in attracting new members doesn’t waiver despite the calendar or temperature outdoors. Please continue to ask friends and associates if they have ever considered joining Meridian Hills. Ashley Goldman is stepping in for Lisa Strachota during her maternity leave, and she will be happy to send promotional materials and schedule a personal tour of the Club for any prospective member.

This month marks the end of my one year tenure as Chairman of the Membership Committee, and I would like to thank all of the Committee members listed below for their outstanding counsel and support this past year. I would like recognize my two fellow Committee members whose three-year tenures are ending along with mine. Randall Lewis and Drew Hamilton have been dedicated and creative members of the Committee and I thank them for their service to the Club. All of your Committee members have worked very hard to boost the membership rolls of the Club, they are very busy in their day jobs and yet find the time to promote and grow the Club as much as possible. Thanks also to all the members who sponsored a strong class of new members this year. Your support has been invaluable!

Membership Update

Just as we reached back to existing members and provided an opportunity to convert their membership, we are looking at an initiative to reach back to former Class "A" (golfing) members and provide them with an opportunity to restore their membership. To be eligible, a former "A" member must have previously paid their initiation fee in full or are prepared to pay the balance of that initiation fee upon rejoining. A former member is required to reapply through the membership committee (same process as a new member) and, if approved, is obligated to pay $5,000 for every full year since their membership lapsed up to a maximum of $20,000. This program will remain open until year end (12/31/11). For further details, please feel free to contact our Membership Director, Lisa Strachota, at 860-1556 or via e-mail - [email protected] or Ashley Goldman at 255-2496 or [email protected].
