October 6, 2019 Twenty-Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time
GOD’S GIFT IS NOT A SPIRIT OF TIMIDITY, BUT ONE OF FAITH-FILLED COURAGE.
Courage lies at the heart of all our readings today - the courage to be faithful before the Lord in all things. Like the disciples, we, too, should be unafraid to ask him for an increase in faith. For Jesus reminds us that even with the smallest amount of faith, we have the capacity to do great things in His name.

Respect Life
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops' theme for Respect Life this year is
"Christ our Hope in every Season of Life." The Catholic Church has been at the forefront of the Respect Life Movement. The Church con nues to speak out on the sanc ty of all human life. We need to work together to promote a greater respect for life in all seasons, from concep on to natural death. Each year on Respect Life Sunday, the first weekend in October, Parishes across the Diocese of Venice conduct a special second collec on to Enhance this life-affirming work. These funds facilitate the Church's witness as a faith community to life in southwest Florida. Please con nue to pray for a greater respect and apprecia on for all human life. Further, thank you for your generosity in suppor ng this annual collec on so that this pro-life outreach of the Diocese of Venice may be expanded. May God bless you with a deep apprecia on for the gi of life and the courage to defend the sanc ty of life. Let us remain united in prayer and ac on.
Sincerely Yours in Christ, + Frank J. Dewane Bishop, Diocese of Venice

Unplanned is the inspiring true story of one woman’s journey of transforma on.
Imagine a young pro-life college coed who wants to spend her life helping people and discovers what seems to be the perfect opportunity at a campus Volunteer Fair. Planned Parenthood offers her a volunteer job where she “can help women exercise
their rights and protect their access to safe medical procedures when in crisis.’’ “Our goal”, she says, “is to make abor on rare, as we provide birth control and other services
and informa on, and only provide abor ons when women really need them.” The woman explains that “pre y aggressive an -choice protesters come to the clinic fence
trying to scare the clients away and shame them.” The young lady’s job will be to escort people from their car into the clinic.
So begins Abby Johnson’s eight-year associa on with Planned Parenthood, climbing the ladder to become the director of the Bryan/College Sta on branch.
It ends when she assists with and views an ultrasound-guided abor on for the first…and last me. Her heart gasps, breaks, and turns to the life-savers for help.
Abby’s mission today is to help abor on workers who “want out” with resumes, finances, job searches, personal needs, and whatever gets them to a be er place.
COME AND SEE THIS INSPIRING MOVIE!
BRING FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND NEIGHBORS!
JOIN 40 DAYS FOR LIFE AND PRAY TO END ABORTION!
