Luke 17:11-19 Gratitude is an expression of discipleship and a sign of God’s reign. This gospel presents a foreign leper who asks for healing, obeys what is commanded, experiences healing, and then gives thanks to God. The faith that saves is the recognition that God acts in many ways on our behalf to bring us salvation. We are healed each time we come to Eucharist to give praise and thanks to God and in this act of worship we become more perfect members of the body of Christ. We are healed each time we put others ahead of ourselves and in these simple acts we strengthen our faith. We are healed each time we pause to “give thanks to God” for the many blessings of each day because by giving thanks to God we acknowledge that God has acted in Christ. By giving thanks we acknowledge our own indebtedness—we are poor and everything we are and are becoming is because God has raised us up.

Nothing is impossible for one who has faith because he doesn’t count on his own strength but on God, who can do

everything.

The Women of Mary will resume On October 19.

We gather at the Parish Center at 8:30 am to pray the Rosary together, followed by goodies of coffee and light refreshments. There is always a guest speaker or some offered teaching/

learning opportunity . The focus is fellowship, support as Sisters of Christ and the chance to grow in our faith. Plus it is just plain fun!! You don't need to be a parishioner of St Pius X to join, only interested in quieting yourself in prayer, perhaps making a friend or two and having time for reflection. Please consider joining, trying it out....and bring a friend!! If you have any questions, please call Karen at 870-4503. We are usually done our gathering between 10 and 10:30.

Thanksgiving & Christmas are fast approaching.

Our Friends of St Vincent de Paul ministry here at St Pius X has been the recipient of overwhelming parishioner support throughout the year replenish-ing our food pantry, thereby enabling us to provide food assistance to many neighbors and parishion-ers. We would not be in existence without the charity and generosity of so many of our parish family. On behalf of our ministry and the families we support, Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! This holiday season if you can once again help us, we will be needing the following items for our Holiday food distribution baskets, so no family need go without enjoying a proper holiday meal. canned vegetables canned fruit stuffing mixes box potatoes cranberry sauce gravy cake mixes As always you can drop off your sacrificial gifts at church, leaving them at the side alters before Mass. If you would like to make a cash contribution to help us, please place your gift into the collection basket in an envelope marked St Vincent de Paul. Every $30 dollars allows us to supply a complete meal for a family. Please accept our sincerest thanks in advance. Friends of St Vincent de Paul.
