Ní fada uainn Oíche Shamhna agus táimid reidh dó anseo sa
scoil. Mar is gnáth beidh cead ag na páistí gleasadh suas ar an
Aoine, táimid ag súil le slua mór púcaí, taibhsí idir beag ‘is mór a
fheiceáil. We are all set for Halloween with children learning
songs and poems and busy drawing spooky pictures. As usual
the children may wear fancy dress to school this Friday, please
remember that they will be doing (some) schoolwork on the
day so their costumes need to allow for this.
Beidh an scoil dúnta an tseachtain seo chugainn – school
finishes at the usual time this Friday and will be closed next
week for mid-term break.

CUAIRT CHUIG AN LEABHARLANN Thug Ranganna 4, 5 agus 6 cuairt ar an leabharlann le déanaí. Fuair na páistí seans labhairt le na
húdair agus bhain siad sult as a gcuairt. Ranganna 4, 5 & 6 visited Dunshaughlin Library recently
where they met with children’s authors. Míle buíochas to the authors and to the library staff.
FUTSAL Rinne páistí ó Ranganna 3 agus 4 thar barr sa Chroabh Futsal i Gormanstown. Fuair na cailiní agus na
buachaillí an dara háit i gcraobh Condae na Mí. Congratulations to the boys and girls Futsal teams
who both finished as runners up in the Meath Futsal Championships recently, a great achievement
as they were competing against much bigger schools, maith sibh! Míle buíochas le Múinteoirí Caitlín
agus Pól as ucht na foirne a eagrú agus a bhainistiú.
SLÁN le MÚINTEOIR CIARA – FÁILTEar ais AILBHE!
Beidh Múinteoir Ailbhe ag filleadh ó shaoire mháithreachais tar éis an briseadh agus beimid ag fágáil slán
le Múinteoir Ciara. We say goodbye to Múinteoir Ciara tomorrow, who greatly added to the school
during her short stay with us. Guímid gach rath uirthi amach anseo.
CABHAIR CHARTHANACHTÚIL – CHARITABLE SUPPORT Tá áthas orainn go rabhamar ábalta cúnamh a thabhairt do ghrúpaí a thacaíonn le daoine gátaracha,
le bhur dtacaíocht bailíodh €310 do GOAL ar Lá na nGeansaithe. We are happy to be able to contribute
to good causes. With your support we raised €310 for GOAL on Jersey Day and once again this year will
participate in the Team Hope Shoebox appeal. As always the proceeds of our collection at the Christmas
Show will be donated to St. Vincent de Paul. Go raibh mile maith agaibh.
IMEACHTAÍ SCOILE – SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

an bhfoireann, nach mbeidh glaochanna déanta a thuilleadh. It has been decided to stop the
practice of ringing parents when children forget permission notes, sports or swim gear etc.
Therefore only those who bring these items with them will be allowed to participate in the
activity.
Peil Ghaelach:Tá cáiliní agus buachaillí gnóthach ag traenáil agus ag imirt cluiche faoi láthair – míle
buíochas le Múinteoirí Laura, Emer agus Caitríona as ucht na foirne a eagrú. The boys and girls from
Ranganna 3, 4 agus 5 are busy training and playing games.
Bhí cailiní agus buachaillí Ranganna 5 & 6 ag glacadh páirt i Blitz Rugbaí i Ráth Tó: Ranganna 5 & 6
took part in a rugby blitz in Ratoath, thanks to our new coach Rory and Ratoath Rugby Club for
organising it and to Rory for his coaching sessions every Wednesday.
Tá Ranganna 5 & 6 ag dul chuig an Halla Pobail ar an gCeadaoin chun oibriú le páistí ón idirbhlian ó
Choláiste Pobail Domhnach Seachnaill. Rang 6 are working on their sporting and movement skills
with Transition Year students from Dunshaughlin Community College on Wednesday mornings. Míle
buíochas le Mr. Coleman from DCC and the staff in the Community Centre for facilitating this. Rang
5 will be doing the same after the mid-term break.
Rith Tras Tíre: Beidh muid ag glacadh páirt sa Chómortas Rith Tras Tíre i Bellewstown an mhí seo
chugainn. We will be taking part in the Cumann na mBunscoil Cross Country Championships in
Bellewstown Racecourse on Wednesday 15th November.
Iomanaíocht & Camógaíocht: Beidh iomanaíocht agus camógaíocht ar siúl ag na ranganna tar éis
an briseadh mean téarma, le cóitseálaí ó CLG Droim Ríogh. Camogie and Hurling coaching will
commence after the mid-term break with thanks to Drumree GAA Club.
Tráth na g Ceist: Bhain na páistí an-taitneamh as an gcomórtas i Rath Chairn le déanaí. Our quiz
teams thoroughly enjoyed the Corn na Bóinne Quiz in Ráth Chairn recently.
PÁIRCEÁIL – PARKING and SAFETY Buíochas libh as ucht tacú leis an iarratas i leith cúraim agus tuisceana i dtaobh páirceáil ag an scoil.
Tá rudaí i bhfad níos fearr agus tiománaithe ag tabhairt aire cóir ag taisteal thart timpeall ceantar
na scoile. Thank you to all those who have observed the call for care and consideration around
parking at the school, a big improvement has been seen over the past two weeks and we ask you
to continue to take care. Entry to the yard is only by the gates in front of school office, gates close to
County Council office are for staff cars and delivery vehicles only.
SÍNTIÚS – CONTRIBUTION
Míle buíochas dóibh siúd atá tar éis síntiús €60 a thabhairt don scoil i mbliana. Cuidíonn gach euro
go mór linn na háiseanna is fearr a chur ar fáil d’oideachas bhur bpáistí. Many thanks to those who
have made a contribution of €60 to the school this year. Every euro helps to make available the best
resources for your child(ren)’s education.
SEACHTAIN na MATAMAITICE – MATHS WEEK 2017
Bhí an-seachtain ag na daltaí - cluichí mata, cosán mata, fadhbanna mata sna ranganna,
bácáil agus quiz mata. Míle buíochas le na múinteoirí, go háirithe Múinteoirí Fionnuala, Laura
agus Emer as ucht na himeachtaí go léir a eagrú. The children enjoyed Maths Week last week
with lots of different activities. Maith sibh!
Ranganna Ríomhaire [Fashion & Design with Scratch]
Create your own fashion designs for a digital runway! Use the computer to design your own colour
combinations, create a stylist fashion tool, and learn how technology is used in the fashion industry!

Ranganna Ealaíne
Art classes for children where the emphasis is on giving the children a space to explore their own
interests in many creative forms. The classes have been set up by two experienced teachers, one a
parent from the school, both fully vetted and insured.
On Thursdays from 2.40pm to 3.40pm, starting on the 9th of November i Halla na Scoile
For children age 7 years and over
€10 per class €20 for materials to be paid upfront.

Má tá spéis ag do phaíste Fraincís a fhoghlaim chur scéal chuig na scoile. If your child is interested in
learning French let us know. There may be an opportunity for after school lessons if sufficient interest
is expressed.
NUACHT ó CHAIRDE
Bailúchán Éadaigh – Used Clothing Collection * DATE EXTENDED *
Tá Cairde na Scoile ag eagrú Bailúchán Éadaigh arís i mbliana agus ta seachtain fágtha chun
bhur sean éadaí a chaitheamh amach. The date for the clothing collection has been extended
to Friday 10th November, so this gives you the mid-term break to clear out your old clothes. If we
can reach our target of €500 the pupils will be given a night off
Obair Bhaile. Glacfar le gach cineál éadaigh comh maith le
ríomhairí glúine agus fón poca. We’ll take REUSABLE items, clothing,
paired shoes, belts, handbags, bed linen, towels, curtains and soft
toys. Please keep mobile phones & laptops in a separate bag. All
you need to do is drop the bags into the school. So tell your family,
tell your friends and if transport is a problem let us know, we can

Eolas do Thuistí – Information for Parents
Cairde Na Scoile would like to inform parents of supports that exist to help you and your child
through their primary education.
Speaker Nights: Our goal this school year is to bring three speakers to Gaelscoil Na Rithe to cover
topics that you would like to hear. We have already had Allen O Donaghue child psychologist
who spoke about "Building Resilience In Our Children". We are currently researching our next
speaker so if there is a topic you would like to hear covered please let us know.

National Parents Council: This organisation "want's to see every child in Ireland reach their full
potential." It offers free support to parents so they can support their children through their primary
education. Parents can call their confidential helpline about any issues, concerns or questions
they have relating to their children's education. The NPC also run conferences and free training
courses for parents, which Cairde hope to bring to Gaelscoil Na Ríthe. NPC HELPLINE: 018874477
