Winglets

Winglets with tips canted at a specific angle generate a great amount of energy, not allowing any wind to escape. Uniquely shaped blades make very little acoustic noise as the winglets prevent eddies (turbulence) and separation of the air at the end tips of the blades.

As air flows along the blade surface smoothly, it reduces the resistance, resulting in highly efficient electric generation.

No electrical construction or electricity expenses!The independent power supply requires no above-ground or underground wiring work, thus allowing for quick installation. Of course, no external power supply is needed.

NTN Green Power Stations were installed in five locations in our city. The one installed at the Nagashima Disaster Prevention Community Center, which is designated as a disaster evacuation site, is lit at night, making it easy for people to find the location of the facility, even in the event of a disaster. It can also guide people in an evacuation. The station can also be used as a local landmark. Signs that indicate evacuation sites have been installed on other stations, which has helped to raise awareness of disaster/crime prevention for local residents and ensure their safety.

Kuwana-shi, Mie (Kuwana City Office)

In 2018, a typhoon hit Iwata City, causing a power outage in many parts of the city. NTN Green Power Station, which was donated to our city, provided light without any problems. It is installed at a tsunami evacuation facility (Ryuyo Fuji) in Iwata City, an evacuation site for our citizens, as part of precautionary measures in the event of a disaster and is a reassuring presence. NTN Green Power Station is also one of the facilities of the Iwata Next-Generation Energy Park, and is used as a place for elementary and junior high school students in the city to learn about the environment.

The 2018 Hokkaido Eastern Iburi Earthquake caused a power blackout, but the emergency power source of the NTN Green Power Station powered our facilities and helped us charge our smartphones. It is also equipped with a security camera, which is reassuring, not only because it can act as a street light but also because it prevents crime at night.

We wanted to use environmentally friendly equipment when constructing a new apartment building, and we decided to install the NTN Green Power Station. The system that uses natural energy and its wind turbine has become a symbol of this building, attracting attention from people passing by. Because it has an emergency power source, local residents do not need to worry about a power outage in the event of a disaster.

Kamisu-shi, Ibaraki ("Central Corp Kamisu" Iwai Corporation)

NTN Green Power Station was donated to Mie Prefectural Sun Arena, which was used by domestic and overseas media for International Media Center as part of the effort to support the Ise-Shima Summit held in Mie Prefecture in 2016. Not only is it environmentally friendly, but it is also well-designed, fits well with other facilities, and is an excellent monument.

Our school accepted up to 2,000 evacuees as a designated emergency evacuation site during the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake. Lifelines such as electricity, water, and gas were disrupted, and evacuees were forced to go about their lives in unstable conditions. In February 2018, we were donated two units of NTN Green Power Station with disaster prevention functions by NTN Corporation. Now, their LEDs are brightly illuminating the ground for the students when they come to and leave school. We expect that these stations are going to be a big help for the people in the community when they evacuate to our school in the event of a disaster.

Kumamoto-shi, Kumamoto (Kumamoto Prefectural Toryo High School)

We have two units installed at the Osaka South Bay ATC's Umie-ru Ground. When Typhoon No. 21 directly hit the Kansai area in September 2018, a tanker collided with the bridge connecting to the Kansai International Airport and trucks overturned on streets. However, NTN Green Power Stations were not damaged, and are still functioning as street lights with emergency power sources. ATC faces Osaka Bay and the wind turbines are spinning fast. Many families come on weekends and holidays, so the stations are also useful as educational materials for children to learn about the environment.

In October 2019, NTN Green Power Station was installed next to a guardhouse on our premises as part of our social contribution effort to support the community in the event of a disaster. We believe it can contribute to the local community in the event of a disaster, as a street light that lights the darkness of a blacked out disaster-stricken area, and as an emergency power supply in precarious situations such as when communication equipment cannot be used due to a power failure. It also has a surveillance camera, which can serve as a neighborhood watch.

In March 2018, NTN Green Power Station was donated to our city in support of hosting the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.Typhoon No. 21 in September 2018 caused severe damage in the vicinity, and the NTN Hybrid Street Light (now renamed NTN Green Power Station) was also damaged by flying objects. The wind turbine, however, has been running very well without major problems, after the repair. It is now used as a hybrid street light that does not require a power source, illuminating the entrance to the Sakishima government building at night, and helping to ensure the safety of visitors.

Susaki-shi faces the Pacific Ocean, and the inner part of the city at a low-lying area, in particular, has been hit by tsunamis many times in the past. For this reason, evacuation areas and storage warehouses are located on higher ground. NTN Green Power Station with an independent power supply is one of the measures to mitigate the anticipated damage of the Nankai Trough Earthquake. It is encouraging that it can serve as a street light equipped with an emergency power source in the event of a power outage.
