Happy November! As the weather is turning cold we would like to thank all those who participated in the District 204 coat drive in October! The winter gear collected goes to families throughout our own school district and we are proud of what Steck was able to contribute! Also, please remember that it is district policy to send students outside for recess, even when the “real feel” temperature dips into the single digits, so please be sure to send your student with a coat, hat, and gloves every day! While we are on the topic of colder weather, many more students are being driven to school each morning. Let’s review the basics of student drop off…. (con’t)

A NOTE FROM OUR PRESIDENTS

Hi Steck Families!

(con’t)

cont…. Drivers may begin dropping students off once staff are present in the circle drive (10 minutes prior to school beginning). To drop off, pull into the circle from the line on Inverness (there are no left turns allowed from Inverness) and you pull AS FAR FORWARD AS YOU CAN. Your children must exit the vehicle wherever you stop, and enter the building from the closest door to where they exit your vehicle. And if by some misfortune, you are stuck behind someone who can’t follow the rules, and doesn’t let their child out right away, please do not get impatient and pull out to go around them. This is for the safety of all pedestrians in the area, and to avoid any collisions between multiple cars pulling out to go around. Lastly, there is never any reason for a parent to get out of the vehicle to assist their child exiting the vehicle! If we all follow these simple drop off rules, all children can enter the building quickly, and safely!

Thank you also to everyone who participated in our fall Boxtop Contest! We will get the final tallies for each class, and results of who won, shortly. Please start saving your Boxtops, and soup labels again, for our winter contest which will be held in February.

Please remember our next PTA general meeting on November 15th at 7:00pm.

Please be on the lookout for information in the next few weeks about the Steck Season of Sharing, which is our annual gift drive for families at our school who need help providing holiday gifts for their children. Every year the need seems to grow and your generosity is very much appreciated. Also, look for information coming soon for our annual Winter Wonderland, Pancake Breakfast and Penguin Patch!

Thank you for your continued support!
