Job Summary - Temporary Activities Assistant:
• Supports and assists residents with adjusting to the home by assessing residents' abilities and interests, then helps to establish goals to promote their quality of life in coordination with the director;
• Supports the development of a volunteer group to provide supplemental programming andis responsible all activities programming;
• Assists in documenting to meet regulatory requirements and residents needs in a timely manner;
• Provides guidance to staff in the use of individualized activities to redirect residents, asneeded, to support quality of care;
• Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional support to residents, their families and friends.
Qualifications & ExperienceMust have experience working with and enjoy older adults; possess good communication,organizational, and follow-up skills; and be an effective team participant. Must possess a ValidVirginia Driver's License with a good driving record.
Physical DemandsMust be able to participate in a variety of activities, push residents in wheelchairs, and assistresidents with trips outside of the facility.
