SERVICE COMMITMENTCommitted to unparalleled customer service, OCP provides the support and resources you need to accomplish your ministry.

Happy New Year!Similar to many of you, I try to use the start of a new year as a time to reflect on the past year and to look with intention on the year that lies ahead. One of our biggest accomplishments as a company was the launch of our unified website, ocp.org. We are very proud of what we have created and are continuing to work hard to ensure we are meeting your online needs.

This coming year we have more new things to look forward to. I am excited to officially announce the new One License partnership between GIA and OCP. The jointly owned company will provide worshiping communities with a single license for the music they need for liturgies and other celebrations. (See ad on the opposite page.)

We hope this catalog continues to be a source of inspiration as you seek out products, resources and music for you and your community. Make sure to have a look at the following insert for a preview of this season’s newest products. We are especially proud to offer two collections that directly support the V Encuentro process, an initiative of the US Bishops designed to revitalize ministry in Hispanic communities. As always, thank you for your support.

Blessings,

New! Psalmody

Randall DeBruynIn Perfect CharityAfter a lifetime of composing many beloved songs for the Church, Randall DeBruyn continues to build his musical legacy with this new collection of liturgical music. Rich and beautifully crafted, In Perfect Charity offers 12 selections as well as his popular Mass of the Resurrection.

Taking a more classical approach, Randall reminds us that traditional liturgical music doesn’t have to mean archaic and old-fashioned. This collection features beautiful new hymns, anthems and psalms, along with less-commonly composed canticles and sequences that are as engaging and inspiring as they are practical and appropriate.

Highlights include “Upon the Cross,” featuring a hymn text by Genevieve Glen, OSB, as well as Randall’s choral setting of the “Te Deum,” the preeminent praise hymn of the Church from ancient times. Arrangements throughout the collection vary from four-part choral anthems to lavish pieces for choir, organ, brass and timpani. The instrumentation is equally varied, with parts for organ, piano, brass and a number of solo instruments.

Track Listing: Christ Is Arisen | Upon the Cross | Philippians Canticle | Hail, Sov’reign Love | A Light for Revelation | Come, O Holy Spirit,

Come | In Perfect Charity | Psalm 27: The Lord Is My Light | Psalm 98: The Lord Has Revealed | Laud, O Zion | Psalm 100: We Are His People

Mass of the Resurrection: Penitential Act with Invocations | Glory to God | Alleluia | Lenten Gospel Acclamation | Holy | We Proclaim Your

Death | When We Eat This Bread | Save Us, Savior | Amen | Lamb of God | Te Deum

Timothy R. SmithForever I Will Sing Engaging and accessible, Timothy R. Smith’s Forever I Will Sing songbook features responso-rial psalms and Gospel acclamations suitable for any combination of piano, organ, SATB and guitar (with capo chords). The melodies, rhythms and harmonies of the refrains are designed to embody the spirit of the text, while the verses are set for solo voice with sustained keyboard or guitar accompaniment.

With settings for every Sunday and holy day of obligation of the 2017 liturgical year, the song-book offers psalm and Gospel acclamation settings that use verbatim texts from the Lectionary. Featuring straightforward and easy-to-sing melodies, Forever I Will Sing can serve equally well as a primary psalm resource or as a supplement to an existing repertoire.

Gerard ChiusanoMass of St. LukeFeaturing a straightforward meter and singable melodies and harmonies, Gerard Chiusano’s Mass of St. Luke is sure to find a welcome home in parishes looking for a more traditional-sounding Mass. With parts for choir, guitar, keyboard, C instruments, handbells, brass quartet and timpa-ni, this versatile setting of the Roman Missal texts is ideal for use throughout the liturgical year.

A bit challenging but accessible nonetheless, the instrument parts make it possible to enhance certain liturgies, such as Christmas and Easter, that call for a more festive treatment, without

parishes having to learn an entirely new setting. The robust choral settings will be approachable for even the most novice members of your parish choir, while assemblies will find the melodies straightforward and singable.

Akwaaba! Songs of Peace and Solidarity

In partnership with Catholic Relief Services (CRS), seven Spirit & Song/OCP composers went on a goodwill tour of Ghana, praying and singing with people in their communities and listening to their stories of struggle and triumph. This life-changing experience inspired this album of new songs about the social justice teaching of the Catholic Church.

Offering a unique blend of styles and genres, Akwaaba! Songs of Peace and Solidarity brings together music from Ken Canedo, Robert Feduccia, Sarah Kroger, ValLimar Jansen, Pedro Rubalcava, Ben Walther and Greg Walton, along with contributions from Frank Jansen and Ted Miles.

This universal collection features songs and sounds of everything from contempo-rary Christian and lively gospel to Hispanic rhythms and vibrant African percussion. In an effort to continue giving back, a por-tion of the proceeds from the sale of the CD and MP3 album will support the work of CRS in empowering people in developing nations and in nurturing peace.

Mario Alberto PérezNada Te TurbeWhere we’re from will always be an important part of who we are. For Mario Alberto Pérez, the music on this collection of norteño music is a way to honor his cultural origins in Delicias, Chihuahua in northern Mexico where he grew up. This delightful, regional style of music will be familiar to many—Hispanics and non-Hispanics alike.

Offering a varied and colorful mix of sounds, Nada Te Turbe contains traditional rhythms from the northern region of Mexico such as polka norteña, balada norteña, huapango norteño and bolero norteño. Hoping to provide an authentic sound, recording of the songs took place in Chihuahua, and the use of typical instruments of this genre of music, especially accordion, bass bajo sexto and drums, also adds to its authenticity.

This music is a way for all Hispanics to know and recognize that God speaks in their language too, even through the music of northern Mexico.

Ken Canedo & Jesse ManibusanFish With MeBack together again! Ken Canedo and Jesse Manibusan have once again joined forces to bring us an eclectic, fun, rocking collection of contemporary music. Speaking directly to the concerns of today—safety and reassurance in a time of terrorism, inclusiveness in a time of division and hope in a time of uncertainty—Fish With Me couldn’t be more timely.

A mix of fun and funky, smooth and slow, this eight-song collection hits all the right chords, in every sense of the word. Spanning the gamut from gentle guitar-based ballad and choral praise anthem to hard-rocking indie pop, Fish With Me offers a wealth of new music for liturgy, music that is geared toward the needs and skills of today’s pastoral musicians.

Although the CD has a definite “praise band” feel, each song can be used effectively in the liturgy, and there are helpful suggestions in the songbook for how to do just that. The songs of Fish With Me will become favorites on the playlists of teenagers, young adults, families and people of every generation.

Sarah HartTil the Song Is SungSarah Hart’s ninth studio recording as a solo artist is a true gem of the purest nature. Weaving depth of lyric and a folk-leaning musical style, Sarah’s 10 original com-positions draw the listener into a story that is at once both personal and universal. A modern-day ode to the fruit of the spirit, Til the Song Is Sung offers meaningful music that we can pray, music that can serve as a companion for life’s journey.

Through a mix of slow, soft ballads and up-tempo toe-tappers, this talented singer/songwriter’s newest offering draws the listener in, speaking straight to the heart. Each of the ten titles feels less like a song, and more like a confession—an open letter from the depths of Sarah’s heart—beautiful and powerful in its honesty.

Teaming up once again with Nashville producer Paul Moak, Sarah continues to gift us with her gorgeous melodies and thoughtful lyrics. The stunning “Because I Want an End” is a convicting, honest statement on the human condition, set against the backdrop of a fallen world. One of the more playful titles, “Joy in These Bones,” features a delightful twang, a nod to her roots in the hills of Southeastern Ohio.

Now in its fourth edition, Celebrating Marriage: Preparing the Roman Catholic Wedding Liturgy continues to be an invaluable resource for everyone involved in the Roman Catholic rite of matrimony.
