• Initial course created by NASBLA in 2004; three courses were conducted that year

• Train-the-Trainer course added in 2007

• Since 2004, over 1,200 officers have been trained in BUI Detection and Enforcement; additionally, over 250 instructors have been trained in BUI Instruction

• In 2010 NASBLA completed a three-year project to validate a Seated Battery of Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST)• NASBLA training curriculum revised in 2010 to reflect training in the new Seated Battery• Two additional Transition courses were created to provide a one-day training protocol in the new Seated SFSTs for previously-trained

officers

• In FY14, NASBLA conducted three 3-day officer courses; four Transition course; and two 3-day Train-the-Trainer courses

• In FY14 NASBLA also produced new video to complement the BUI course, including incorporation of the on-water scenarios and courtroom testimony

• In FY15 NASBLA will conduct two 3-day officer courses, two Transition courses and one 3-day Train-the-Trainer course
