JUNIOR SCHOOL STUDENTS Please put an extra set of clothes in your child’s bag if possible. Some children are needing an extra set with the wet weather. Dear Parents/Caregivers Hope you have all been keeping well over the past fortnight. We have had a number of staff and children away as the ‘flu bug’ continues to affect a large number of people. Please keep your children home if they are showing flu like symptoms as this is a nasty bug which seems to keep people at home for at least 3 days. We are all enjoying Spring even though the weather has been very variable. The School choir has been busy practising with Miss Jones for their performance next Tuesday night in the annual ILT Sing Out at the Civic Theatre. It will be a great night so if you have the chance, try and get along to enjoy the performances. Regards Wendy Ryan Principal IMPORTANT DATES TERM DATES 12 Sept: Scholastic Book Club Orders due 17 Sept: ILT Sing Out – 7pm – Civic Theatre 19 Sept: School Disco – 6-7.30pm 20 Sept: Loud Shirt Day 19 Sept: Last day for swimming 27 Sept: Last day of Term 3 22 Oct: School Photos 25-29 Nov: Deep Cove Camp Term 4: Monday 14 October – Friday 13 December (depends on Teacher Only Day/s) SCHOOL DRIVEWAY Please do not come up the school driveway to drop off your child, especially between the hours of 8.45am-9.00am and 2.45-3.10pm, as we have a number of vehicles that need to have access such as Mini Vans with Special Needs students. Too much traffic causes a danger to our students. SWIMMING Term 3 swimming is from 10 – 11am at Splash Palace. On Tuesdays, children from Rooms 2 & 5 attend with those from Rooms 1, 4 & 7 on Thursdays. Please ensure that your child has their swimming gear at school on those days. If they are to be excused from swimming, for any reason, please send a note to school, or contact the School Office. SPORTS UNIFORMS All sports uniforms are to be returned to the School Office before the end of the Term. We need these items for the summer season. SCHOOL DISCO Thursday 19 September – 6-7.30pm Theme: Hats $2 entry fee to be paid at school on 19 th September. There will be snacks available for purchase. Parents Support Group

Meadow Fresh Madness! Room 5 is collecting Meadow Fresh stickers that you can find on a variety of Meadow Fresh Products. If we get enough stickers we will be in to win a share of $500,000 worth of cool stuff for our school. We hope that we can collect enough stickers to win the big prize. So EVERYBODY get collecting the NOW! Give stickers to Alice or Isobel in Room 5 please.

LOUD SHIRT/MUFTI
DAY Friday 20 September Wear your loudest and brightest shirt on Friday 20 September to help give deaf kids a voice. Funds raised from Loud Shirt day go towards helping the organisations provide technology, such as Cochlear implants, and Auditory-Verbal therapy to help deaf children communicate at the same level as their hearing peers. To take part in this School Council fundraiser. A gold coin donation is required.
