To provide all visitors with the experience of Antiquity throughout the summer, Split organises the changing of the guard parade and greeting of the Emperor and Empress each day at noon. Every month, come and experience the Roman Tour, where you can enjoy thematic evenings, Roman parade, gladiator fights and attractive dance performances. Diocletian’s Legion will once again revive the ancinet past, while the Live Museum project at the Cornaro Walls will return us to the Old Roman way of living.

You will read in every guide-book that Split is a city that arose from the palace of the Ro-man emperor Diocletian, one of the best preserved and impres-sive buildings from the Roman period in Europe. You will also read that the historical city nu-cleus has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1979. How to get to know the city in one day? A difficult task.Walk westward along the Wa-terfront, passing by numerous coffee shops and shops and en-joy the view of the Palace south-ern façade. You will then come to the city squares such as Fruit Square and People’s Square and fur-ther on towards the northern wall of the Palace, the best pre-
served one. Do not miss “your luck” and touch the toe of the grandiose statue of Grgur Nins-ki (Gregory of Nin), work of the famous Croatian sculptor Ivan Meštrović. The Golden Gate will appear before you. Go through the gate and into the Palace and visit the an-tique and medieval streets and squares, go along the narrow-est street in the city called “Let me pass” just next to Jupiter’s temple. "Lose your way" in the labyrinth of the once emper-or’s quarters and let your way take you through the Vestibule to reach the central imperial square called Peristyle.

The inventory is made of quality wood and the dishes that are served are usually fish, shells, home produced prosciutto and cheese and the drinks are grappa and local wines.
In recent years, Split has been ex-periencing a real gastronomic renais-sance, particularly inside and around Diocletian’s Palace. Magnificent interi-ors and charming terraces are irresist-ible to those who wish to enjoy good food with a view
of the passers-by. But if you wish to treat yourself to a good dish, the best Dalmatian special-ties with small cre-ative interventions at correct prices, we suggest these places that make it worthwhile to take a stroll outside the center of the city.

Situated in a small lane at just a few minutes distance from the market-place and the port, this tavern is the ideal place for a lunch break if you are in a hurry to catch the ferry or you need a break during you visit of the city..- We insist on do-mestic cuisine with some modern touches and offer fish steak, shells, truffle, venison, “pašticada”, lamb, but the favorite like of modern guests are pulled pork and burgers –chef Šerka revealed to us. He was the mentor of a great number of young cooks who are now manag-ing restaurants throughout Dalma-tia.
'Ma:Toni 'is a popu-lar place among the locals through-out the year and for the reason that in an attractive city such as Split qual-ity and prices vary very often. Here one can eat well all year round and the best local foodstuff is mixed with the tastes of world cui-sines, and the week-ly menu always of-fers something new and interesting. The best wine prices in town, direct and friendly staff, and all that accompa-nied by the sounds of bossa nova, jazz and funk on loud-speakers – all that is Ma:Toni.
Those who follow trends in choos-ing restaurants will surely not encoun-ter 'Nevera'. But regardless of be-ing avoided by In-stagram stars, this place is a real jewel of Split hospital-ity for it has been offering high class local dishes for years. Octopus stew or gnocchi stuffed with prosciutto and shrimp are some usual dishes of chef Vrca, and for those who love sweets we recommend not to avoid the restau-rant’s chocolate cake.

Join the World of illusions!WillkoMMen in der Welt der illusionen
The most famous attraction of modern architecture, the Sea organ, was placed at the end of the waterfront. it is unique in the world for the sounds it pro-duces thanks to the sea waves that go through music pipes placed under the sea and cre-ate “sea music”, the Sea organ. it is the work of Zadar architect nikola Bašić, and in a brief pe-riod of time has become one of Zadar’s brands and trademark.
The Museum of illusions has the mirror room, kaleidoscope, a room that changes the per-ception of a person’s size, di-dactic-logic toys and puzzles are only one part of the exhibits and entertainment offer. The fascinating world of illusions in this museum was particularly created to shake the confidence of the visitor’s senses and rep-resents a place that brings amusement to all generations.

the Famous sunsetDer berühmte Sonnenuntergang
Roman FoRumForum romanum
ChuRCh oF st. DonatusKirche DeS hl. Donat
The most beautiful description of the legendary sunset in Za-dar was given by the famous di-rector Alfred Hitchcock during his visit to Zadar in May, 1964. In observing the sunset from the window of Room 204 of Ho-tel Zagreb at that time, he wrote down the following: “The sun-set in Zadar is the most beauti-ful in the world and incompara-bly more beautiful than the one of Key West in Florida.”
The founder of the forum was the first Roman Emperor Au-gustus, the fact known from the two inscriptions in stone from the 3rd century when the con-struction was completed. Only the original sidewalk and steps as well as two decorative monu-mental pillars, one of which is at its original location, have been preserved to this day. It used to function as a pillar of shame.
Originally dedicated to the Holy Trinity, in the 15th century it was named after Bishop Dona-tus from Zadar who had started the building of the church. Its unusual cylindrical shape with double interior space express-es its uniqueness and it is con-nected in shape to the baptis-tery of Charles the Great or the Church of St. Vitale in Ravenna. It is the pride and symbol of Za-dar holding the remains of the Roman Forum in its founda-tions and grandiose consider-ing the time it was built.

The name Šibenik was first men-tioned on Christmas of 1066 in the Charter of King Petar Krešimir IV, which is why the city is also called Krešimir’s City. Up until the plague epidemic in the second half of the 17th century, it was the biggest city on the entire eastern coast of the Adriatic. St. Jacob’s Cathedral is the most significant building of the 15th and 16th centuries on Croatia’s ter-ritory. Thanks to its exceptional val-ue, it was added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List in the year 2000.These are just the basics about Šibenik, but let us just tell you that Šibenik has many other gems in store and it is up to you to discover them. We will make a suggestion of what to see and where to eat, but we strongly encourage you to explore Šibenik on your own - you won’t re-gret it!You needn’t worry about beaches as those in Šibenik are well known for their beauty - especially the Banj Beach. It offers an unforgettable view of the Old Town and is an ideal place for taking a selfie..

Why is lavender so magical?Warum ist LavendeL ein WundermitteL?
Practical advices / Praktischer ratgeber
Due to its pleasant odour and curative properties, the Romans used it for their baths while the Greeks used it mostly for medical proposes. Its effectiveness in vari-ous difficulties is widely known and there is almost no home whose wardrobe is not protected by a small bag of lavender flower. It is a traditional medicine for the paci-fication and alleviation of insomnia and headaches, anxiety, depression, tension and stress.
1 Mix a few drops
of etheric lavender oil with olive oil which is an excellent combination for nurturing the body, hair and face, particularly after sunbathing.
2 Add a few drops
of etheric lavender oil to neutral oil (ses-ame oil), spread it over your temples and the back part of your neck to remove headaches and tension.
3 Pour one litre
of boiling water over four spoons of dry lavender flowers. Let it stay for five min-utes. Filter the tea and add a pinch of cin-namon and drink it throughout the day – it will save you from insomnia.
4 Insect stings:
place a drop or two of etheric oil directly over the sting.
5When tired
pour apple vinegar over two handfuls of lavender flowers and leave it under the sun. Filter after two weeks. It is used by taking deep breaths over it.
2 Geben Sie einige Tropfen
Inhalieren Sie damit.
