Transcript of Night sky presentation for teachers
Curriculum based school performances
Imagine 1500 elementary school students sitting in plush seats, with all their friends, in a concert hall in their own community? They have
travelled by bus, some of them for a couple of hours and some of them simply walking from their school.
On stage there are 12 musicians in front of two large screens with an actor in the spotlight, ready to tell a tale with a tune and all they paid
for admission was $5! Sure beats math and spelling for one day!

Accolades
For Peggy’s Violin, a Butterfly in Time production in November 2012
• “does one leave the show with something special, a note of passion, desire to learn and return to the concert hall? The answer to that is a ‘Resounding Yes’.” John Barnum, Artistic Director of the Mississauga Symphony
• “The show is quite simply outstanding. The children are engaged totally by the story and the
music, and their teachers and parents confident that the program is suitable. The artistic values are very high - the music is professionally performed, and the narrative delivered by a well respected Canadian voice actor. With its multimedia presentation including large screen video combined with the live performers, “Peggy’s Violin, a Butterfly in Time” provides 50 minutes of high quality entertainment for children and adults alike. The ancillary teachers’ support materials mesh well with the Ontario curriculum guide, rounding out this complete package.” Eileen Keown, General Manager of the Mississauga Symphony
• “once the show began, you could have heard a pin drop. The young audience was mesmerized by
the story, told with words and music, of a 310-year-old violin. The kids sat entranced throughout the first-ever symphony orchestra production of Peggy's Violin,” Mississauga News Nov 29,2012
