ARNOLD WINS LOW NET!MAJORS HAS BEST AND WORST!

The Low Net for the dayat 3 under-was earned

by Marty Arnold who, as a career 13 handicapper,

is mysteriously playing to a 16. Arnold narrowlyedged out legitimate 13 handicapperMike Gaddis

who posted an admirable score of 40.

There were 9 birdies-- three by Brad Reese, two by

Geoff Fitzgerald , and one each by Ron Majors,

Mike Schmal,Tom Kisgen, and Mike Gaddis.

Shot Of The Day and Worst Shot Of The Day wasclaimed by Ron Majors who awed his teammates

byplacing his second shot on the par 5 # 14 onto the

green (how many 17 handicappers can do this?),

enabling a two putt for birdie. Then, obviously

knowing his handicap is under review, heeled his

approach shot on # 8 into the concrete ditch where it

rebounded into the tennis platform and proceeded to

ricochet in machine gun fire fashion to the dismay of

    the nearby tennis players.

There was some good golf on this day as evidenced

by the box scores below. Brad Reese was lauded by

his playing partners for his 169 yard recovery

approach shot on # 15 from around a tree andGeoff Fitzpatricklikewise impressed his teammates

with back to back birdies to open the match,

including an opening awesometee shot that was the

longest of the year (besting Reeses previousshock and awemark)

REESE FIRES 35!Wins Low Gross With Three Birdies!

    October 4, 2005 AnsleyTuesday Afternoon

By: Don Nichols Golf Tour (ATAG)

It was-once again-another gorgeous afternoon that

saw fifteen players show up for the 26 th meeting ofthe ATAG Tour. Making the first two tee times-

starting at 4:42 pm-was Team 1 consisting ofMarty Arnold, Geoff Fitzpatrick, Don Nichols,

and Mike Schmal, followed by Team 2 made up ofDanny Morris, Bill Meagher, Ron Majors, and

Tim Martin. Arriving shortly after these teams hadteed off was the Team 3 threesome ofBrad Reese,

Tom Kisgen, and Richard Batelaan, subsequently

followed by the late arriving Team 4 foursome ofOllie Kennon, Richard Gilmore, Mike Gaddis,

and visitorRandy Frazier. At the conclusion of the

match, the Team 3 threesome drew Geoff

Fitzpatrick as their wild card partner for scoringpurposes.

Team 1-Marty Arnold, Geoff Fitzpatrick, Don

Nichols, and Mike Schmal- easily cruised tovictory, matching last weeks winners score of 13

under. Team 3 ( aided by their wild card partner

Fitzpatrick) and Team 2 came in for a meaningless

second and third place at 10 under and 9 under

respectively. Team 2 had to anxiously await the

final group- who finished just before dark-before

they could breathe their sigh of relief. Whileclimbing the stairs to the porch, Team 4 quickly

ended the drama by conceding their loss, knowingthere would be a price to pay for a lowly score of

    only 5 under.

Brad Reese captured Low Gross with a score of1under, despite bogeying two of the first four holes.

His three birdies, including one on the all important# 18, helped clinch the award. The other single

digiters, Fitzpatrick and Meagher, came in at 2 over

    and 4 over respectively.
