T he long off sea s on proved to b e v ery bus y w ith several of the winte meetings extending late into the night where many controversial issue were deba ted a mongs t AT AG c omm itt ee me mb ers. First, no doubt you have noticed the new name for the AT AG ne wsletter . During the off season, the E ditor of t he Nick elod eo n received a “Cease and Desist” letter from the Nickelodeon Cable T elevis ion Network. Apparently, the widespread popularity of ATAG has caused our global readership to continually besiege the Nickelodeon Network to televise AT AG matches, irri ta ting the Ni ck eno ug h to threaten fil ing a l awsuit based on copyright and trademark infringement. A letter from the Nick’ New York law firm, Killem and Berium, LLP , demanded that we “immediately cease and desist from engaging in such misleading and illegal prac tices or else face permanent injunctive relief and s tatutory and monetary damages including an award of all attorney fees.” Refusing to be intimidated, the ATAG S uprem e Council authorized the Commissioner to engage the services of the litigation  firm of Cheatham a nd  Krushem, LLP, to mount a vigorous defense of the impending lawsuit to the fullest extent of ATAG resources. However, the effort was quickly ab andoned when i t wa s determi ned that the b alance in the AT AG Leg al Defense Fund was $1.79, so the newsletter now has a new moniker and , q uite frankly, one tha t is more representa tive of ATAG activities. S ec ond , there wa s g reat deba te about revisi ng the Draw Partner method w hen o ne tea m is s hort a p layer. ATAG Com missioner Don Nic hols announced today that the 2008 ATAG
