PRESIDENT IEEEP KARACHI CHAPTER VISITED PNEC

President IEEEP Karachi Chapter Mr. Asif Sidiqui along with 4 members visited PNEC on 14 October 2015. The meeting was chaired by the Commandant PNEC. During the meeting mutual collaboration, Research/Final Year Projects (FYP) and forthcoming IEEEP student competition were discussed.

PNEC projects were exhibited at inauguration ceremony of Defence Export Promotion Organization (DEPO) display Centre at Defence Complex Islamabad. Solar Power Trainer, Power Sector Conversion System and 3 Phase Induction Motor Drives were displayed in the exhibition and were highly appreciated by the visitors. Commodore Dr Nassar Ikram SI(M), Commandant PNEC attended the Ceremony on 5 October 2015 .

Asst Prof Dr. Syed Nazeer Alam presented a technical paper on ‘Investigate the impact of Sunspot Number on F2-Layer of the Ionosphere and its spectral models over Wakkanai Station, Japan.’ Dr. Syed Nazeer Alam was also an invited Speaker who presented a talk on ‘Technological Development & Revolution in Cellular Communication, A Roadmap to Renovate Mobile Phone into Smart phone’.

EDHI-EDUCATE A CHILD BY ECSS-PNEC

A lecture on “ Story of My Life” by Veqar ul Islam, chief Executive Officer, Jaffer Business Systems was held on 9 October 2015 in PNEC auditorium.

SEMINAR ON INTRODUCTION TO C4 SYSTEM

A lecture on “Maintaining National Integrity in the Globalised World” by Professor Dr Uzma Shujaat, Director Area Study Centre for Europe University of Karachi was delivered on 2 October 2015 in PNEC auditorium.

The Institution of Mechanical Engineers (ImechE), UK is an independent British pre-mier network of engineers throughout the globe, representing over 106,000 members in 140 countries. The aim of the establishment of this body at PNEC-NUST is to reinvigorate students scholastically as well as technically. ImechE PNEC Student Chapter held its Annual Seminar on 7 October 2015. Mr Yasir Siraj who is Graduate Member of Institution of Occupational Safety & Health UK (Grad IOSH) and Member of International Institution of Risk & Safety Management (MIIRSM) enlighten on “Occupational Health and Safety, Risk Assessment and Awareness on International Concerned Organizations such as NEBOSH. Dr. Uneeb who is Production Manager at IPGDL and GDF Suez and also the Chair of ImechE Pakistan-South Panel and delivered a brief introduction of ImechE and career path it offer.

Education & Community Service Society of Pakistan Navy Engineering College (ECSS-PNEC) with an aim to promote humanity through Welfare & Volunteer work arranged a bake sale on 20 October 2015 at PNEC. Theme for the event was ‘Edhi-Educate a Child’. The amount collected from the bake sale was spent on funding education of a child at Bilquis Edhi Home at Kharadar, Karachi.

GUEST LECTURE - NATIONAL INTEGRITY

A seminar was conducted by Mr Ahmed Khalid, Field Technical Consultant (National Instrument Islamabad) on Introduction to C4 systems for faculty members, MS and PhD students at PNEC auditorium on 3 October 2015.

ISO AWARENESS REFRESHER COURSE

The ISO Awareness Refresher course was conducted at PNS JAUHAR auditorium for staff officers, faculty members and civilian staff. The purpose of the course was to provide awareness to the participants about the ISO procedures followed at PNEC and was also a refresher for already trained officers.

PNEC participated in PN Volleyball

Championship 2015 and gained 3rd position.

Inter Divisional flood light Cricket Championship

2015 was played at PNEC cricket ground.

PNEC participated in PN weekly sailing regatta

15 and gained 3rd position.

Color Kit Night T-20 Tournament 2015 was

held from 12-30 October 2015 at Institute of

Business Administration (IBA). PNEC team

participate in the tournament.

A ‘Book Fair’ was organized on 30 October 2015 at PNEC. 10 reputable publisher and booksellers established their stalls. Faculty members, officers and students visited ‘Book Fair’ and were with the view that these kinds of events should be held to create interest for books.

PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST

COMKAR command Bi-annual safety review was held at PNEC auditorium on 2 Oct 15.

Commodore Dr Nassar Ikram, commandant PNEC was chief guest at Passing out Parade at PNS HIMALAYA.

Commandant PNEC took round of barracks at PNS JAUHAR on 9 Oct 15.

PNEC participated in world space week celebrations Space Fair conducted by SUPARCO (Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission) on 10 and 11 Oct 15 at PAF museum.

SMO delivered lecture on child immunization, preventive measure dengue fever and preventive measures for heart diseases on 8, 15 and 20 Oct 15 respectively.

Video conference for new entrants on CDC was held on 9 Oct 15.

Video conference on standardization/modification of employer and alumni survey forms was held on 16 Oct 15.

Design Assessment Board presentations was held on 27 to 29 Oct at conference room of PNEC.

Local Arm Firing was conducted on 20 and 28 Oct 15 at PN shooting range.

INDUSTRIAL VISITS

Following industrial visits were conducted in the

month of October to familiarize the students with

industry working and to provide them practical

knowledge.

Semester VI EE visited Aqua Gen Power Plant.

Semester VI MIS visited Agha Khan hospital.

Sem IV ME visited KTMDC.

Sem III IME visited Younus textiles.

Sem V IME visited Alsons Ind Pvt Ltd.

Sem VII EE Visited Pakistan cable Ltd.
