you apply your beliefs about leadership to this school? How would you inspire leadership in others? I was extremely pleased with all candidates, the confident manner in which they conducted themselves during our discussion and having the opportunity to talk with them and get to know them better. They all had great ideas and were able to express themselves well. In Week 8 the candidates will deliver their speeches to the rest of the school. This will be on Monday 3 December at 9am. Again I was highly impressed with every student who in the interview spoke passionately about the school and their role as a leader in our school. Congratulations to all. You are already leaders in your own right. Parents are welcome to attend the speeches at 9.00am on Monday 3 December. Night of Celebration Our Night of Celebration rehearsals are well into play now and our musical drama is developing well. All students are involved in dance and singing. Costumes are being organised by most staff and notes should have gone home informing you of the requirements for the night. We do have a technical rehearsal at Menai High the day before but we will be scheduling a dress rehearsal as well. Thank you as always for your cooperation. An invitation for the night will come home soon.

Our Remembrance Day Ceremony On Friday 11 November we held our Remembrance Day Ceremony in the school hall. The ceremony was as always very moving and enhanced by Angelise’s musical accompaniment. Thank you to all students who demonstrated great respect at this special assembly Annette Wein Principal

Our SRC team have had another meeting this term and they have organised enjoyable activities to end our year. In Week 8 we will be commencing our annual handball competition. Our SRC team will also run a whole school talent quest which will be held on the very last day of school and students wishing to participate will have to register their item in Week 7. The Semester 2 SRC have also suggested that we have a Christmas disco and mufti-day. This year the students will not be required to bring in a gold coin donation, instead we are asking all students to bring in non-perishable food items which we will donate to the Salvation Army. Maria Panourgias & Carolyn Rider Sending enormous words of encouragement and congratulations to Amy for today and the next 4 days. Amy is competing in the Junior High Jump event at The Australian Nationals Athletics Carnival held in Melbourne. Amy will be representing the state of NSW, the Sydney East Region, the Engadine Zone, Alfords Point school and of course herself. This is a huge achievement and we know Amy is fully deserving of this honour as she has put in many, many hours of hard effort, has a positive mindset and
