PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
VISION: North Haven Public School, in partnership with our community, promotes and provides a dynamic, future-focused learning environment fostering equity and excellence. Our school will deliver opportunities for every
student to become a successful learner and a caring, confident, creative individual.
Harmony Day Today, North Haven Public School celebrated Harmony Day. Classes were involved in separate Harmony Day activities (there was no whole school event). Harmony Day is a celebration of our cohesive, culturally diverse society. Held on 21 March each year, it coincides with the United Nations’ International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. The ongoing theme for Harmony Day is Everyone Belongs.
Have a great week!

Tell Them From Me Survey I am delighted that this semester, our school, like many other public schools in the state, will participate in a Department of Education initiative: the Tell Them From Me student feedback survey. The survey measures factors that are known to affect academic achievement and other student outcomes. The focus of the NSW-wide survey is on student wellbeing, engagement and effective teaching practices. More information about the survey is available at: http://surveys.cese.nsw.gov.au The survey is a great opportunity for our students in Years 4-6 to provide us with valuable and quick feedback on what they think about school life, how engaged they are with school and the different ways that teachers interact with them. More than 6,300 schools in Australia and around the world have used Tell Them From Me to survey 5.4 million students. Capturing the voices of our students will help improve how we do things at our school. I want to assure you that the survey is confidential. The survey is conducted online and will typically take less than 30 minutes to complete. It will be administered during school hours between 30 March and 8 May. Participating in the survey is entirely voluntary.A consent form and FAQs for parents/carers about the survey is being sent home with students in Years 4-6 today. If you do not want your child or children to participate, please return the form to school by 3 April 2020. Additional copies of the form and FAQs are available from: http://surveys.cese.nsw.gov.au/information-for-parents.

SPORTS NEWS North Coast Cricket
NHPS’s very talented Isaac Luke has been selected to represent the North Coast in cricket at the state carnival in October. Isaac was selected after his lower North Coast team took out the North Coast Championships played in Toormina on Sunday 8th and Monday 9th March. Isaac executed 2 brilliant run-outs, scored plenty of runs and took some vital wickets to help his team dominated the carnival! Congratulations Isaac!!
P&C Easter Raffle
The Easter raffle is one of our P&C’s main fundraisers
for the year. Even though the Easter Hat Parade has
been cancelled, the Easter raffle will still run.
There will be a raffle book at the canteen to buy
extra tickets for $1 between 9am and 2pm. The
school office also has booklets of 10 available for
$10. Extra booklets will go home next week and we
would really appreciate your support in selling these.
Thank you
