NEWSLETTER August-October 2016 VOL I Issue 2
Greetings! It is with great pleasure that we present the CGS Newsletter 2.
Tier 2 and 3 have whizzed by with our staff and students giving off their very best! They are the epitome of what Clara Global School represents - enthusiasm, versatility, dedication,
eloquence and above all, team work. Our students have set even higher standards as is apparent from the achievements in the details of activities and events which are outlined for
you. It is gratifying that we Claraites have succeeded in our endeavors to provide an atmosphere where skill, knowledge, love and joy work together, focusing on hidden talents of
students to bring forth academic as well as overall development in the child! A lot of encouragement is given in day to day studies, even to the weakest student.
The Prefect's Investiture Ceremony thwas held on 12 September 2016.
Our students are the torch-bearers of tomorrow…therefore nurturing them and fostering in them a sense of
self-respect and discipline is extremely important. Delegation of responsibility and giving authority to
children is important as it teaches them lifelong skills of being powerful and caring at the same. In this
solemn ceremony the new Prefect Body took the oath of office in a gracious moment before the gathering.
This was definitely one of the most significant events for Clara Global School and in the lives of each and
every student leader.
Gandhi Jayanti
Gandhi jayanti was celebrated on 3rd October
2016 (since 2nd October was Sunday) by
showing the children a short video on
Mahatma Gandhi . Empowering D students
spoke on the life of the Mahatma.
Swach Bharat Abhiyaan Activity
Swach bharat abhiyaan activity was also conducted on the 3rd October. Students in the whole
school right from Joyful A to Empowering D, were buzzing around like eager beavers armed with
brooms and swishing their dusters! There wasn't an untidy pigeon hole or dusty corridor after
they had finished! Parents, we wonder if they are that eager to clean up after themselves at home!!
Truly they warmed our hearts that day. Of course, teachers explained about the importance of
cleanliness - not only for the body but the environment.
Dussehra
Dussehra was celebrated on 10th October and the students learned about the story of Ram and
Ravan (victory of good over evil) through an interesting video clip. The children outdid themselves
coming to school dressed for "garba"…The girls came in beautiful multi coloured "ghagharas" -
accessories and "dandiyas" too! The boys were also in "kurtas" and everyone danced the garba to
the scintillating music!
Yellow Day And World Student Day
Yellow day and world student day was on 14th
October and of course all Claraites came to
school dressed in yellow! It felt like a ray of
sunshine entered the school building.
Students came bounding in their smiles as
sunny as the colour they wore! Being World
Student Day, a video on the amazing "Missile
Man" was shown to the students. After
watching the video the kids were in awe of APJ
Abdul Kalam. Coordinator Mrs Rathnam
further challenged the children by asking them
questions on his life, which many answered
correctly. She told them that the first child to
come into her office on Monday with a short
write up on APJ Abdul Kalam would get a prize!
Ayesha Pathan and Arianna Sidhwa were the
first ones to turn up with the write ups and
bagged the prizes!!!
Assessments for Tier1, 2 st and 3 (1 Term ) Academics
Assessments for TIER 2 & 3 were held with the
sole aim of not taxing the students and that
they understand concepts step by step. The
children studied well and gave their
assessments happily.

Sakal Eco Friendly Idol making Workshop
A hub of creativity
SAKAL Eco Friendly Idol making Workshop
was organized in collaboration with Clara
Global School on the 4th of September 2016.
Eager students turned up to make the
"Ganesha" idol. Patience, dexterity and
creativity triumphed and the results were
amazing. Much to our surprise,
235 kids from in and around Magarpatta City
participated in this activity. We conducted the
activity in two batches, due to lot of on spot
registrations, so no child goes home
disheartened.
Ganesha Activity
GANESHA Activity was carried out on the 8th
of September and students were shown a
video on "Ganesh Chaturthi". Students also
coloured "Ganesha" and created the Ganesha
idol on paper using leaves, coloured paper,
sequins etc.
thGrandparent's day was celebrated on 9 September 2016:
The Pre Primary Section was agog with excitement as they prepared to celebrate
Grandparent's Day! More than 50 Grandparents and the entire Clara family were
dressed to the 1970's theme. The Vintage Car Photoshoot was most popular and
kids with grandparents posed in the old FORD. Beautiful photoframes made by
the kids with icecream sticks were given to the kids. Each class conducted various
activities involving both the child and grandparents. After a snack the
grandparents were escorted to the school auditorium where they played musical
chairs to the songs of the 70's. There was a lot of camaraderie between the plucky
"dadas and dadis", "nanas and nanis"! Six winners from both the teams of
grandmothers and grandfathers were given prizes by the Director Mrs. Hemangi
Kawade. A few grandparents spoke about how happy they felt on being specially
invited to CGS and some even sang songs. Mrs. Sarika Babar, Director introduced
the Clara staff and the Head Mistress gave the Vote of thanks.
These pictures tell the story………
