about things Brownies did in the past and ties in
with the BIG Brownie Birthday 100 years celebrations.

it after the Christmas Play on 10th & 11th Dec. There will also be
a chance to do the Hostess Badge on the show nights.

Brownie Meetings Brownie Meetings Brownie Meetings ——— Requests to ParentsRequests to ParentsRequests to Parents
Brownies do not need to bring food or drink to our meetings; we al-
ways provide a drink and biscuit. Chewing gum is not allowed.
Full brownie uniform with sash must always be worn with sensible
shoes for running around. Please do not mix brownie uniform with
other items such as jeans, coloured leggings, other t-shirts etc. We
are proud to be a smart uniformed organisation!
Please can parents ensure that all brownies are dropped off and col-
lected from the main school entrance by an adult at every meeting.
We cannot allow brownies to walk down the path or to the car park
alone. Thank you parents for your support.
Welcome to all our new brownies!Welcome to all our new brownies!Welcome to all our new brownies! We have some new girls joining us this term so this page is to give you some information about how we
run brownies and what you can expect during your time with us……… and to update existing parents!!!!!
Brownie Promise & LawBrownie Promise & LawBrownie Promise & Law All Brownies need to know their Promise and
Law off by heart before enrolment.
The New Promise
I promise that I will do my best
To be true to myself and develop my beliefs,
To serve the Queen and my community,
To help other people,
And to keep the Brownie Guide Law.
The Brownie Law
A Brownie Guide thinks of others before her-
self and does a good turn every day.
Communications to ParentsCommunications to ParentsCommunications to Parents We produce a termly newsletter which is given out at the first meeting of the new term. This details our
plans for every meeting and informs parents about any trips planned, when subs and trip money are due and
how much will be required.
Letters are given out prior to trips with forms which have to be completed by parents so brownies are cov-
ered by our insurance whilst out and about. Copy letters are usually available to download from our brownie
website www.ghbrownies.btck.co.uk Our brownie website also contains lots of information about our pack
and has photos of brownies on trips and in our meetings.
Text messages are used to remind parents when subs are due and for other short communications. Please
make sure you let us know if you change your mobile number. You can contact us in the following ways;
Text/phone 07976 945150 or by email [email protected] We will always reply asap!
Brownie FundsBrownie FundsBrownie Funds Subs are payable half-termly in advance. Subs are due even if
your brownie misses a meeting. We use the money to pay for
hire of the hall, caretaker fees, badges, activities and re-
sources. We’re often asked how much we get paid as leaders;
the answer is we don’t! We are all volunteers who do it for fun!
We sometimes apply for funding from other sources such as
grants. This money helps to pay for trips or to subsidise trips
like the pantomime which costs us around £25 per brownie so
we can keep costs lower and more affordable for parents.
We keep formal accounts which we have to submit to Girlguid-
ing UK annually, please ask us if you would like to see them!
Christmas PlayChristmas PlayChristmas Play We have a great reputation for our Christ-mas Plays which are watched by friends, families, local rainbows and brownies and all the children at Garrett Hall School! Each year our show has a modern twist and all the brownies have words to learn and are taught new songs and dances. We provide all costumes and there is usually no limit to the number of tickets you can have for your family. Parts are given out before October half term and we practise every week after that.
DanceDanceDance444FunFunFun - Our leaders Briony and Holly now have their own dance school called Dance4Fun.
Children’s classes are held at St Johns Primary School, Mosley Common on Saturday morn-
ings. Adult Zumba classes will be starting after October half-term! If you are interested,
please check out their website www.dance4funacademy.wix.com/Tyldesley for more de-
tails or you can ring Briony on 07718 073293 or email [email protected].
