Here at Leamore, there has been lots of fantastic learning taking place. Did any of you notice that we had a mention in The Express and Star on Tuesday? If not, you can have a read of the article by scanning the QR Code. Here are some dates for your diaries, so you know when we are celebrating special days and supporting various charities. You are all invited to visit your child’s/children’s classrooms on Friday 25 th September at 2:45pm, where you will be able to enjoy a delicious selection of homemade cakes (baked by staff!), in support of Macmillan Cancer Support. Please bring a monetary donation with you, if you can. On Wednesday 30 th September, we will be taking part in World School Milk Day! Children and staff are invited to wear a cow onesie or mask to school – both of which can be purchased quite cheaply from eBay. The Cool Milk company, who we purchase the milk that all children enjoy daily, will be visiting with ‘The Cool Milk Show’ and guest star Amoolia the cow! Other milk-related activities are planned! October is ‘Walk to School Month’. We would like to kick- start this campaign with an old favourite: ‘Funny Feet Friday’ on Friday 2 nd October, where children and staff are able to wear footwear with flair. Whether it’s decorating an old pair of shoes with feathers and gems, or turning some trainers into cars – footwear needs to be as wacky as possible! Prizes will be awarded for creativity, so get your thinking caps on! This year, ‘Children in Need’ is on Friday 13 th November. We will be supporting this with a non-school uniform day. All monetary donations welcome!

Friday 18th September 2015

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope you are well and have had a good week? Here at Leamore, there has been lots of fantastic learning taking place. Did any of you notice that we had a mention in The Express and Star on Tuesday? If not, you can have a read of the article by scanning the QR Code.

Here are some dates for your diaries, so you know when we are celebrating special days and supporting various charities.

You are all invited to visit your child’s/children’s classrooms on Friday 25th

September at 2:45pm, where you will be able to enjoy a delicious selection of homemade cakes (baked by staff!), in support of Macmillan Cancer Support. Please bring a monetary donation with you, if you can.

On Wednesday 30th September, we will be taking part in World School Milk Day!

We would like to kick-start this campaign with an old favourite: ‘Funny Feet Friday’ on Friday 2nd October, where children and staff are able to wear footwear with flair. Whether it’s decorating an old pair of shoes with feathers and gems, or turning some trainers into cars – footwear needs to be as wacky as possible! Prizes will be awarded for creativity, so get your thinking caps on!

This year, ‘Children in Need’ is on Friday 13th November. We will be supporting this with a non-school uniform day. All monetary donations welcome!

We will also be supporting the NSPCC’s ‘Bobble Hat Day’ on Friday 4th December. Any monetary donations that children bring to school will go to the NSPCC’s ‘Call for Help Appeal’ and raise money for the Childline service.

Finally, we will be participating in Save The Children’s ‘Christmas Jumper Day’ on Friday 18th December which is also the last day of the autumn term. Again, monetary donations for this charity would be most welcome.

I know that we can count on you to support us with all our special days and charity efforts.

Kind regards,Michelle HillInterim Head Teacher
