Exploration And Discovery
Exploration
Exploration is to go to a place to see what is there like when Christopher Columbus went to America he started exploring America seeing what was there.
Discovery
Discovery is to see something that you don't know about and happens by accident like when cavemen discovered fire they didn't know what it was.
I think they lead us to new learning because something we don't know about happens and we can create stuff with it (I'm talking about we can discover things in far places to use them at home).
How do Exploration and
Discovery lead us to new learning?
DISCOVERY
The discovery of penicillin: this discovery is
important to be alive because doctors use it to cure infections… these are like little pills.
The discovery of the fire: this discovery is one of the most important discoveries because we can cook with it to give better flavor to the meat, chicken or whatever. Discovered by Homo Erectus.
The discovery of electricity: this discovery helps us to see, to work, (because of computers) and to have entertainment like videogames or TV. Benjamin franklin discovered it.
Important Discoveries
When a man called Christopher Columbus lived in Spain… When he was a kid he wanted to be a sailor but all the sailors bothered him… Few years later he went with a man to ask the king of Portugal for money to go in a trip to prove that the Earth is round… But the king said no… 15 years later that man gave Columbus 1 chance more to ask the queen of Spain for money to buy 3 ships… She said yes but only for the treasures… but instead that, Christopher wanted to prove Earth was round going to japan from South… but instead he went to America… There were some men called native Americans that were cannibals… then was a war… when they went back to Spain Christopher only received the 15% of the gold instead of the 10% and then he went to jail.
The Discovery Of America
Now the impacts for the discovery of America:
For the queen of Spain it was good because she got more popular and richer than before.
For Christopher Columbus was bad because he received 15% of the gold instead of the 10% and went to jail.
For the native Americans it was bad because Spanish people brought them diseases, made them speak Spanish, destroyed their homes, killed a lot of them and stole all their treasures and fruits.
For the crew members was bad because Christopher had them so scared, had them working while he was relaxing and most of them were killed.
Impacts for Thediscovery of
America
Navigation is to go from a place to another. You also have to use tools like these:
These are navigation tools which you have to use so you don’t get lost.
Navigation
COMPASSMAP ASTROLABE
They use me as
guide XD
Astrolabe is used to look for stars and to find lands with stars.
Compass has a stick that shows north, south east and west, its borders are made of iron or steel.
Map is a paper (a plane version of the world) to look at the lands.
