is Term, Mrs Jessett, Mrs Pearce and Mr Fisher, have been involved in ongoing training in
the new finance and management system being implemented
across all Department of Education schools. There will be days
each week this term, where one of us will be out of the school
undertaking this vital training. Some regular administrative duties
may therefore take longer to provide but we will closely monitor
this to ensure that school administration continues to function
effectively.
News at Central PRINCIPAL: Michael Fisher
At Central, it’s as simple as ABC. A is for Attendance. This is
part of our ongoing focus for the year. It is vital that your
children attend every day to make the most of their learning
opportunities. B is for Bump it Up. This is a continued strategy
to support the skills, strategies, collaboration and outcomes of
Literacy and Numeracy. C is for Communication. Our school is
a community! We use a variety of lines of communication, talk
with each other, ask and work together for the common goal
of success for all.
Last week we had a strong demonstration of some of the skills
and strengths our school are well known for. It is my pleasure
to thank and congratulate Ms Zacharia, Ms Gibbons and
students involved on their effort with public speaking. Students
participated in a district NAIDOC public speaking competition
in Dubbo demonstrating their exceptional skills in speaking and
preparation. We also had a selection of students represent our
school at Burke Ward Public School for a local competition of
public speaking with a tremendous effort put in by all students.
Coming up on the 21st, 22nd, 23rd August students will be
participating in Eisteddfod Choir, Verse Speaking, Speech and
Drama. Please ensure that all notes are returned and students
are wearing their full school uniform when necessary.
It was fantastic to see so many parents, family and members of
our community, at the assembly last Friday, to help celebrate
the educational and sporting achievements of our students.

DONATIONS OF TISSUES
Due to the very large number of
Tissues that have been used so far
this year, we are asking parents /
caregivers if they could donate a
box of tissues to the school. Thank
to all those parent who have
already donated.
On Friday, 11th August, the Junior and Senior public speaking teams from our school
headed to Burke Ward Public School for the next stage of the competition. The girls had
to present their written speech to a large audience. They were then taken into a room,
given a topic and had to write a speech on an impromptu topic to present. The girls were
all fantastic and presented all speeches beautifully. I would like to applaud them on their
hard work, dedication and confidence. Well done Emerson Chesterfield, Ruby Martin,
Briana Ralph and Edren Burrows.
