Money Troubles? Late Payments?Let’s Talk About It.

It’s easy to feel all alone when money troubles hit. So, even if your rough situation is new for you, remember that it’s one we’re very familiar with. We help members with problems every day. Don’t wait for things to get worse. Your credit union will be there for you in difficult times as long as you keep the line of communication open. We can help.

Members are asked to become more conscientious of the specific date their loan is due each month. Payment is considered late if not received by the due date. Need a payment book to help with reminders? Just ask. Want to set up automatic electronic payment of your loan? Just ask. Does your payment due date coincide with your pay period dates? Now is the time to take action that best fits your circumstance in order to make your loan payments on time each and every month.

In an effort to keep RFCU’s loan portfolio healthy, we are communicating with members on a more regular basis. When your loan payments become late, be expecting a call reminding you of your payment and an attempt to help with a late payment plan. Thank you in advance for making sure your payments are paid on time!

Effective September 1, 2013 any new Share account that is closed within 6 months of the New Account Date will be charged a Share Account Closure Fee of $15.00

When Life Changes Visit RFCULife changes require more than an emotional adjustment--they require a visit to RFCU to update your information.

Marriage:Decide if you’re going to pool your assets or maintain separate share draft/checking or savings accounts. See your credit union representative for help once you’ve made that decision to open these accounts.

If you have a credit card issued by RFCU, notify us of your name change.

Update beneficiaries on your IRAs (individual retirement accounts) and other investments.

Expecting a new baby (birth or adoption):Let us help you get financially ready for that new baby.

Divorce: RFCU can help you examine financial accounts and determine where you stand financially.

Visit the credit union to open and fund a share draft/checking and savings account in your own name. Get a credit card in your own name and manage it carefully.

Death of a spouse or parent:Inform all creditors, including RFCU of the death.

Cancel any automatic or online bill paying services unless you’ll continue to use them.

Check with RFCU about the Life Savings Insurance for the deceased member.

Attention: Mortgage Lending SuspensionDue to the ever increasing Federal Regulations and other factors involved with making sound mortgage loans, RFCU has decided to temporarily suspend ML products from our list of services. We understand these are very valuable loan products not only for our members, but also the credit union. During this temporary suspension, we will be enhancing ML Products to become more rate-competitive and service oriented. We foresee this as a positive step towards being more equipped to service our members needs, keeping compliant and growing our loan portfolio. We will keep members updated on our progress towards accomplishing these goals.

Discounts on Home and Automobile Insurance Offered to MembersIt’s one of our best kept secrets. RFCU members are eligible to receive discounted rates on their home insurance and auto insurance policies. Our insurance partners, TruStage and Liberty Mutual Insurance underwrite the policies. Members report receiving significant discounts on the same policy protection coverage compared to what they were previously paying with a different provider. One member saved more than $1,300 on their apples-to-apples auto and home owners insurance coverage by going with our insurance partners. RFCU’s representative is Gary Lyman. His number is 919-872-4700 extension 57132. Members are encouraged to call Gary on his direct line for better results when searching for Home Owners Insurance. Gary will be visiting the Leland Branch office on Friday, August 2 from 10 am to 5 pm to meet with members to answer questions and provide advice and recommendations regarding protection and coverage amounts. All members are invited to contact Gary and see what your savings could be.
