Her work is exhibited in prestigious art galleries in the western United States and is in private collections and in art museums through- out the country. She is a sought-after workshop presenter. Kim received a BFA in Illustration from the Academy of Art University, San Francisco in 1989. Her work has been show- cased on the cover of Art of the West, Southwest Art, The Pastel Journal, PleinAir Magazine, and Fine Art Connoisseur. Acknowl- edged by jurors and her peers, Kim has received recognition for her landscapes at major plein air events, international magazine competitions, national pastel society shows, and museum exhibitions. Kim is a Signature Member of the California Art Club, the Pastel Society of America, Laguna Plein Air Painters Association, and a Distinguished Pastelist of the Pastel Society of the West Coast. March 10, 2019: 1-3pm Jan Silverman How to Photograph Your Art Jan Silverman will cover the basics on how to photograph your art, what to look for in photo editing software, about image file formats, how to match a print to your original, and other things to create quality digital images of your art and possibly give you a competitive edge. Jan holds multiple engineering degrees and had a successful career in hi-tech Marketing. Realizing photo processing labs couldn’t match the colors and tones on his monitor, he created “Artistry Printing”, a photo printing company that uses state-of-the- art equipment and museum grade materials. He taught courses in digital printing at the Aperture Academy in San Jose, CA. Jan photographs artwork and makes giclee copies for the Pacific Art League, the Woodside Gallery, the Peninsula Gallery, the Martha Hewett Gallery in Cincinnati, and for many private custom- ers. He became the printer of fine-art and metal prints for Keeble & Shuchut’s in Palo Alto and San Jose Camera & Video. He currently works out of his studio in Los Gatos, CA. The ArtNow Exhibition and supporting programs offer opportunities for high school student artists, from Palo Alto to Gilroy, to gain real-world experience in participating in a juried museum exhibition. Each year, a new theme is chosen for the exhibition and students are asked to submit works based on that theme. $10,000 in scholarships and awards are given to participat-ing students.
