Please be aware and adhere to the Resi guest policy.
The full details of the policy can be found in the Residences Handbook:
A visitor is defined as a person who is meeting with a resident for a short period of time, while a guest is defined as a person who is staying overnight with a resident.
Any non-resident who is present without a guest pass after noise curfew of 11pm will be required to leave the residences, and the resident responsible for that visitor will incur a $50.00 fine.
The University reserves the right to charge an amenity fee to anyone staying more than three nights in a 7-day period.
A guest must be accommodated in the host resident’s room, and not the lounge room or other common area.
Residents need to organise a dated guest pass from resi reception before 11pm. The guest is required to carry the pass with them at all times.
The host resident is responsible for the behaviour and conduct of their guests. The host is also responsible for informing the other people in their unit that they have a guest staying overnight.

‘Close the Gap’
To commemorate the 10th anniversary of the ‘Close the Gap’ campaign in Australia. This im-
portant national initiative seeks to close the gaps in life expectancy, opportunity and equity
between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. As an institution with a commitment
to widening access to university study, Deakin is taking steps to address the educational gap
in access and attainment experienced by many Indigenous students by joining 18 other uni-
versities around the country to partner with the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experi-
ence (AIME) in 2016.
AIME is a proven educational program which links Indigenous secondary school students to
universities, through outreach and personal mentoring. Evidence shows that AIME is effec-
tive in closing the educational gap. Participants who complete the program finish school and
transition into university, training and employment at the same rate as non-Indigenous stu-
dents.
AIME will be part of the University’s Deakin Engagement and Access Program (DEAP) school
partnership program, providing targeted activities to partner schools and communities. Equi-
ty and Diversity is collaborating with the Institute of Koorie Education (IKE) on the planning,
development and implementation of AIME.
To find out more or how you can be involved please contact Mel Martinelli, Acting Director
Equity and Diversity at <[email protected]>.

Long Term Virtual Parking Permits – vPermit
Purchasing your permit online
You can now purchase your long term parking permit online using a valid credit card. Permits are now valid for 4 months (120 days) or 12 months (365 days) from the date of purchase.
If you’re ready to purchase your long term permit, please click here.
Physical permits are no longer required
Our new parking permit system is based on vehicle registrations and physical permits will no longer be provided or required to be displayed on your vehicle. You can enter up to three vehi-cles on your permit but only one vehicle can be active at any time. Important reminder: when you bring a different vehicle to campus, it is your responsibility to select and activate a different vehicle on your vPermit account.
Short Term Parking Permits – Casual (hourly/daily)
CellOPark is our new ‘Pay As You Go’ mobile App provider. You can establish a CellOPark ac-count with a valid debit or credit card. Your parking session can be managed on your mobile de-vice (smartphone, laptop, and computer) or by making a phone call. You no longer need to deter-mine how long you’ll require parking prior to purchasing a ticket and potentially paying for more time than you needed. With our new system, you’ll only be charged for the parking time you ac-tually use.
To register
To register, simply install the free CellOPark Australia App and complete the short sign-up form. You can enter up to three vehicles on your account but only one vehicle can park at any time. Please take extra care to ensure you enter your vehicle registration/s correctly (the most common mistake to avoid is entering the letter ‘I’ instead of the number ‘1’ or the letter ‘O’ in-stead of the number ‘0’ or vice versa).
To start a casual parking permit session
Select your location, the relevant campus zone number and ‘START’. Remember to STOP’ when you leave so that you only pay for the time you park.
The CellOPark zone numbers for Burwood campus is: 1040300
Important reminder: when you bring a different vehicle to campus, it is your responsibility to select and activate a different vehicle on your CellOPark account.
For more information or to get started, please visit www.cellopark.com.au.
General Parking Information
For those still wishing to pay cash for their parking, CellOPark pre-paid cards are available to purchase from Student Central and these can be used with the new ‘Pay As You Go’ CellOPark Australia App.
Further information on the new parking system is provided on our parking web page. Should you require additional assistance or have any parking related queries, please email [email protected] or call 522 71011.
