Launch Control System

Discover the exhilaration of the most energetic standing start using electronic intelligence to reproduce the efficiency of an experienced

racing driver. With paddles at hand, right foot on the accelerator and left foot on the brake, the message, 'Launch Control On' is displayed.

As soon as your left foot is raised from the aluminium pedal, New Clio R.S. explodes off the line, with breathtakingly dynamic gear changes.

R.S. Drive

Pressing this button gives you access to three modes: Normal, Sport and Race.

According to the mode, R.S. Drive alters the mapping of the gearbox, ESC behaviour,

steering and the sensitivity of the accelerator pedal. Multifaceted and versatile.

Steering wheel paddles with EDC transmission

Steering wheel paddles are state-of-the-art sportiness. For fast gear changes – up to

120 ms – without affecting the steering use of your hands. Optimised performance

thanks to the combination with the sequential EDC 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox,

offering reactivity and driving comfort. In Race mode on R.S. Drive, the gearbox

becomes fully manual.

Share your adventures with Datalogger

R.S. Monitor 2.1 can record in real time all the settings displayed during

your day and link them to the corresponding GPS positions. You can also

read your results using the software provided. Visit www.renaultsport.

com/rsreplay to download, view, analyse and share all your track data

with the R.S. Replay community.

Go for it with the GG Diagram

Measure longitudinal and lateral acceleration and view maximum values

recorded. The screenshots can be saved to a USB stick.

Aim for performance

Challenge yourself by assessing your scores from 0 to 50 km/h,

0 to 100 km/h and 400 m or 1,000 m standing start. Test your braking

time to go from 100 km/h to 0 km/h. Detailed values are displayed

as pressure gauges, bar graphs or diagrams on the customisable

R.S. Monitor 2.1 screens.

Adopted by R-Link Evolution®, R.S. Monitor 2.1 is the

dedicated telemetry tool that controls and measures

Seeking dynamic performance from New Clio R.S., Renault has leveraged its technological progress

in Formula 1®. For the first time ever, the efficient petrol engines of R.S. and R.S. Trophy, the 6-speed

dual-clutch gearbox and the steering wheel paddles have all come together. Solutions that propel

driving into everyday sportiness with improved energy efficiency.

1.6 Turbo R.S.

A concentration of sportiness

New Clio R.S. provides astonishing everyday driving

ease. Its new 4-cylinder, 16-valve turbo delivers

200 hp at 6,050 rpm and its high torque of 260 Nm

is reached from 2,000 revs for instant driving pleasure.

Developed by Renault Sport, this engine benefits

from groundbreaking technology modelled on the

DLC (Diamond-like Carbon) pushrods derived from

Formula 1®. New Clio R.S. also blends performance

with practicality. Its engine verve is complemented

by tightly controlled fuel consumption*: 5.9 l/100 km

The sporty engine is accentuated by the exclusive

coupling with an automatic EDC 6-speed dual-clutch

gearbox. This transmission adapts to the desired

driving style: smooth gear changes in automatic mode;

responsive and lively in manual mode for even more

driving pleasure.

Technology

In every competition Renault enters, winning technology

is applied to production vehicles. The benefits sought for

its customers are performance, reliability and efficiency.

The Renault 'production' engineers, some of whom

come from the Formula 1® design offices, have thus

created downsized engines that maximise performance

and energy efficiency. Just as Renault Sport F1® does

for racing, the challenge in downsizing is in reducing

the capacity whilst increasing the performance, power

and engine torque through supercharging.

By sharing design methods and digital design and

simulation tools, the engineers from both worlds –

Formula 1® and production – share their expertise with

one and the same objective: to make the new Renault

engines higher performing and more robust over time.

1.6 Turbo R.S. Trophy

Premium performance

New Clio R.S. Trophy has anchored the everyday into

sporty driving and is aimed at those who also want

to let loose on the track. An additional 20 horsepower

and up to 20 Nm extra torque, thanks to new engine

mapping, a larger turbo and remodelled intake system

and exhaust downpipe. The EDC gearbox has been

developed to get the most out of increases in peak

power and torque ratings. New Clio R.S. Trophy has

entered the world of superior sports cars in which

gear changes are more responsive and among the

most efficient for a production car. Maximum power is

220 hp at a peak rating of 6,250 rpm. Torque reaches

260 Nm and overtorque in 4th and 5th gear enables an

increase to 280 Nm. The CO2 emissions are 135 g/km*.

A range of chassis to meet your every need

Sport chassis

The architecture of the front axle system has been

redesigned, with oversizing of some components to

increase rigidity. On the rear axle system, New Clio R.S.

has 260 mm brake discs and a large anti-roll bar to

increase stiffness by 10%.

Cup chassis

The Cup chassis, available on New Clio R.S., favours

steering and performance: 15% extra firmness and

5 mm lower for those who love track driving.

Trophy chassis

New Clio R.S. Trophy shows its preference for the track

with a chassis that is strengthened and lowered by

20 mm at the front and 10 mm at the rear.

Att ention paid to performance At the heart of Renault Sport's know-how, the suspension has been revised with the aim of significantly

improving the damping, handling responsiveness, roadholding and braking of New Clio R.S. and

New Clio R.S. Trophy. Become one with the road.

Suspension with hydraulic compression tappets

New Clio R.S. offers technology taken straight from the rally car, with built-in hydraulic

compression tappets in its shock absorbers. This technology brings spectacular

results in terms of progressiveness, comfort and performance. They absorb the

impact taken by the shock absorbers, to ensure comfort without compromising on

efficiency. No matter the conditions, New Clio R.S. delivers rigorous road handling

and unexpected comfort for a sports car.

Electronic diff erential

Developed by Renault Sport, the electronic differential considerably improves the

acceleration power and traction on bends of New Clio R.S. It pushes the limits

of understeer by imperceptibly micro-braking on the front wheel about to skid,

without limiting engine torque. The R.S. Differential gives you a 10% speed advantage

out of corners.
