• Since 1996 the Fine, Visual and Performing Arts have been a part of the New Jersey Core Curricular Content Standards and a graduation requirement in the State of NJ

• 2007 New Jersey Arts Education Partnership released the first New Jersey Arts Education Census

• In January 2014, New Jersey became the first state in the nation to include arts education measures as part of the annual School Performance Reports

week for 40 minutes.

All school have a choir which either meets during 0 period or lunch

All students are permitted to begin studying a musical instrument in grade 4 with no cost to

• 7th grade students receive a Theater-based Holocaust Residency from George Street Theater based on the book they are reading in Language Arts

• 8th grade students receive a residency developed between their History teacher and George Street Theater

• 6th, 7th and 8th grade Dance Academy students receive a residency from the Carolyn DorfmanDance Company.

District Jazz Band

Students in grades 6-12 from all district schools are eligible to participate in our district jazz band.
