play cricket/football, various options of safelyallowing sports were evaluated

The badminton court will move to the area between B&C

blockThe current badminton court will be covered with a mobilenetted area.

A mobile netted area has been chosen

To allow entry of Fire Engines in case of an emergency

To allow clearing up the area in case of any events etc.

This mobile netted area will be only for playing tennis ballcricket

Football will still not be allowed

On Logistics

The timings for the play area will be follows. Note,

these are proposed to handle the peak times and areopen to change based on usage

For Cricket

Weekdays 4 PM to 6 PM.

Holidays

8 AM to 10 AM. 4 PM to 6 PMFor Basketball

Weekdays 2 PM to 4 PM

Holidays 6 AM to 8 AM and 2 PM to 4 PM

Estimate for project

Estimate received for the entire project from one

vendor is for Rs 1,85,000

This is on the higher side

If proposal is approved, further quotes andnegotiations will be held to reduce costs.

Risk mitigation

We will first construct only one mobile unit of 10 ft

width.If the kids feel that the play area is sufficient, weproceed with the construction of the other units.

To get an approval to utilize Rs 1,85,000 from thecorpus fund for the project

The Disadvantages

There will be an impact on the corpus

There will be an annual maintenance for the nets

This annual maintenance is expected to increase theannual budget in the region of Rs5,000 *

Note, the current annual budget is approx 20 lakhs.The impact is therefore minimal

Kids can get injured in the nets. This is not theresponsibility of the association

* Net cost for 40 ft X 10 ft is Rs.1350. Assuming 2 need to be replaced and the rest for labor

A vote for this proposal will be sent

The options are-

Option 1 I approve the project and to utilize the setupcost from the corpus fund

Option2 I decline the proposal.
