NEPAL AFTER RECENT EARTHQUAKE 2015
Nepal is heavily reliant on its tourism industry, the country’s largest source of foreign exchange.
Nepal's devastating earthquake that has claimed nearly 7,300 lives so far is likely to hit the 10 billion-rupee tourism industry.
The city’s landmark, the 61 meter high bhimsen tower, collapsed, its ruined stump now serving as a selfie stop for dazed nepali kids.
The country’s most important hindu shrine pashupatinath was also partially damaged.
The everest base camp is devastated and at least 18 climbers are dead. The outlook for this year’s climbing season, due to start now, is grim. Trekking too is likely to take a hit.
The earthquake is likely to cause a reduction in people hitting the trails to the world’s highest peak in the coming season starting in october.

Tourism sector has taken a beating in nepal, with industry sources fearing cancellation of over two lakh international visitors.
According to nepalese archaeology department officials, a total of 57 monuments in the kathmandu valley have been destroyed in last week's powerful temblor.
