Member, Board of Directors Born on 22.11.1957 in Buyukdere – Sariyer / Istanbul. He completed Katip Celebi primary school and Vefa Lyceum. In 1972, he entered Kuleli Military Highschool. Between 1975-1979, he completed his BA Degree in Electric-Electronics at the Air Force Academy and was graduated as a lieutenant. He was appointed pilot after one year flight training at the 2nd Main Jet Base in Cigli / Izmir. Also, he had Fighter-Bomber training at 3rd Main Jet Base in Konya. In 1981, he was appointed as an F-4E Phantom fighter pilot at 112th Squadron of the 1 st Main Jet Base in Eskisehir. In 1982, he was promoted as a first lieutenant; in 1985 he was assigned to 7 th Main Jet Base in Malatya and in 1988 he was promoted as a captain. Between 1989 - 1991 he had training at the Air War College and was appointed as a staff officer. In 1991, he was appointed to 161 st Squadron, 6th Main Jet Base in Bandirma. He worked as an operations officer at 161 and 162 squadrons. In 1996, he was appointed as the commander of 162nd Squadron. In 1998, he was appointed Coordination Branch Chief within the headquarters of the Air Force Command. Being appointed colonel, he undertook position of Secretary General of the Air Force between 1999-2001. Between 2001-2003 he served as an Armed Forces Attaché in Rome. In 2004, he was promoted Brigadier General from position of Bandirma 6th Main Jet Base Operations Commander and appointed as the Head of Air Defence and Command-Control. Between 2005-2007 he served as Ankara 4 th Main Jet Base Commander. In 2008, being in position of the Head of Department for Air Force Training, he was promoted to Major General and was nominated as İzmir 2 nd Main Jet Base Flying School Commander. In 2010, he was appointed as the Head of Air Force Personnel. While taking up this post, by interference of a gang within the state he was arrested by arrangement of Balyoz on July 4, 2011. In 2012, he retired. He is married and he has three children. Kurubas speaks English and Italian. He has flied appr.5000 hours mainly with F-4 and F-16 fighters in air operations missions like: interior security, poised hammer, Bosnia and Herzegovina etc.. Nedim Güngör KURUBAŞ Major General (Ret.) Member, Board of Directors
