When did Wilsons Prom become a National Park?

Wilsons Prom became a National Park in 1898. It was discovered by Mr George Bass and he called it ‘Furneaux’s Land’ as he thought it was the same land Captain Furneaux discovered. It wasn’t, as his friend Mr Matthew Flinders told him. They then recommended the name Wilson’s Prom to Governor Hunter in 1789. The name ‘Wilson’ came from a friend of Mr Flinders.
