    Rules of the Game

    1) Doors open at 6:30 pm. Each team will be assigned a table. Dependent uponnumber of teams registered, teams may be required to share a table.

    Competition will begin promptly at 7 pm.

    2) The Trivia Competition will consist of 10 questions: 4 rounds with 10 questions ineach round. Questions will be read twice.

    3) Maximum team size is 5 persons. If you are smart enough to go with less...so beit! Once a player has left the competition they will not be allowed to rejoin untilthe completion of the current round of questions.

    4) Pre-competition things to do:(a)Pay your Registration fee at the door & collect your entry tickets one per

    individual. (b) Team Leader will be responsible for handing in your answer

    sheets.(b)Write your team name on each of the Answer Sheets on your table.(c)In case of a tie for first place, Golden Point will apply - Bonus questions

    will be asked up to a maximum of 5 questions. If teams are still tied,winner will be determined by the toss of a coin.

    5) Correct spelling on the answer sheets is not required, however, answers must belegible and the judges must be able to easily recognise your answers. More thanone answer per question will automatically be scored as incorrect.

    6) You will have three minutes between rounds to hand your sheets to the properjudge assigned to your team.

    7) No outside food, snacks or drink will be allowed into the Overlander Hotel. Freerefreshments, soft drinks, fruit juice, tea and coffee will be available during theevening.

    8) There will be one intermission, after Round 2. Door prize will be drawn aftercompletion of the final round.

    9) There is no polling the audience and no phone a friend. Use of resource materialsand electronic devices (computers, mobile phones, pads, etc.) are strictlyprohibited at the tables. Should it be necessary for you to use your mobile

    phone for a call, you are asked to leave the room and will not be permitted re-entry until the end of that round.

    10)Judges will post team scores for all to see at the end of each round. The ChiefJudge has the final say on any disputed answers.

    11)The competition will be operated in a spirit of goodwill, honesty, integrity and fairplay. However, should there be any discovered instance(s) of cheating, thepenalty will be immediate disqualification for the individual and the team. Therewill be no refund of registration fee.

    12)Keep your team discussions to a low roar unless you want the neighbouring teamto eavesdrop. Or discuss loudly the wrong answers and hope they WILL be

    eavesdropping. Anything goes. Team taunting is definitely allowed. And mostimportantlyHAVE FUN!!!
