Placement Coordination Committee The Placement Coordination Committee (PCC) was set up with the purpose of acting as a transparent, credible and accountable interface between prospective employers and graduating students. What started as a modest enterprise has today become an integral part of the system adopted by the University. This link does not sever after coordinating placements, but extends to coordinating careers by building a strong alumni base and by sharing information and experience. The PCC is also engaged in coordinating internships for the students. In fulfilling its objective of meeting functional knowledge and inculcating specific skills amongst the students, the PCC: 1. Organizes weekly round-table conferences for the graduating batch chaired by a guest lecturer or a faculty
member. 2. Maintains a catalogue of recent developments in the field of law to generate awareness amongst students. 3. Organizes workshops and seminars conducted by various luminaries who help the students in preparing
themselves for the placement process, facing interview boards, résumé writing as well as for higher studies. 4. Organizes regular career counselling and group discussion programme for the graduating batch. Placement at NLIU is a holistic process which commences in the month of August. It not only acts as an interface between prospective employers and graduating students but also provides an opportunity to the recruiters to meet the faculty and students on the campus. The recruiters are invited for the pre-placement talks (PPT) highlighting the salient features of their organisation, job profile, remuneration, terms and conditions of employment and other relevant information. The recruiters are urged to indicate their preferred dates for such talks to the PCC either by e-mail or telephonic communication a week prior to commencement of the PPT week. In furtherance of the process, the organisations have to register themselves with the PCC with their preferred dates in the final placement schedule. Recruiters are welcome to follow their own recruitment process, broadly within the framework of Group Discussions, Written Tests and Personal Interviews. Organisations can also opt for telephonic interviews and interviews via video-conferencing. The PCC works to ensure that final recruitments are conducted in a fair and transparent manner so as to maximize the interest of both the students and recruiters.
