n-link provides you with solutions to all your reporting needs. Quick and easy access is provided

to all our standard reporting and overall portfolio performance reports.

You can produce multiple reports for one or many clients simultaneously and customise

letters to your clients accompanying your reports. n-link also enables you to create customised

cover letters and reports to help build your client relationships.

This document shows you how to produce adviser and investor reports and displays samples of some reports

that are available on n-link.

How to produceInvestor Reports

1. On the n-link home page, click Account Search

2. Search for your client by: – Account Name, or – Account Number

In the search results, highlight the Account Name followed by clicking the Report button.

Handy Hint:If you would like to produce reports for more than one client account (packaged reporting), select multiple accounts by placing a tick next to each client, then click the Report button. You can search via adviser, service and also office.

3. To select the reports you wish to generate, place a tick next to each report.

4. You can refine the parameters of the investor reports by using the various drop down menus to modify the report output by a specific date, since inception, month, year or financial period.

4a. You can customise your cover letters by adding your own branding and logos to your cover letters and reports using the Header/Footer Template function.

To create a customised header and footer template, select the Header/Footer Template section.

4b. In the Customise Template window, select the Navigator standard template and click on the Duplicate button.

This will create a duplicate template which you can rename. Rename your customised header/footer and select Ok.

A Microsoft Word document will open. Double click on the header and insert your preferred name, logo or branding.

Handy Hint:Mac Users will need to ensure they have configured Mac to use Microsoft Word by default for opening RTF documents. The files inserted into your header/footer should be compatible with Microsoft Word.

5. Click Generate to produce the requested reports. Once generated, these reports will be displayed in Generated Reports.

6. To view a single report, place a tick next to the report and click View Word or View PDF. This will produce the report in Word. From here you can print the report.

To merge multiple reports and to preview or print them, place a tick next to each report and click Merge/Print. Click Proceed to view or print.

Handy Hint:Reports generated will remain in Generated Reports for 48 hours.

7. To email reports to clients, navigate to the Generated Reports tab. Place a tick next to the report types clients you want to email then click Email.

In the Email Details screen, you can see the Recipients and reports that will be emailed. Modify the Body (maximum 3000 characters) and Subject as required and then click Send E-mail(s).

To view a recent history of sent emails, click the Emails tab.

Double click on an email to view details.

Handy Hint:If you select to send reports to a single client, their details will display in all relevant email fields.

If you select multiple Recipients, the email fields will show placeholder text and not individual client details. e.g. Dear <salutation>. Do not change this text. Each recipient will receive a personalised email with only their reports attached.

Portfolio Valuation

This report shows the holding, current unit price, value of investment and the percentage of the portfolio held in managed funds, direct shares and cash at a chosen date.

Market Exposure

This report shows a market exposure graph and for each underlying investment a break down of percentage held in each sector is provided at a chosen date.

Benefit Statement

This report shows the income, expenses and investment gains/ losses and preservation status for the client over a chosen period.

Performance Summary

This report shows the return an investor account has achieved based on the total portfolio, including any monies in the Cash account. The calculation takes into account all transactions that take place in the portfolio and those that go through the cash account.

Note: This report is only available once the account has been active for three months.

Performance Summary – Total

This report is an expansion of the existing Performance Summary report which will now include all investor accounts that have been fully and partially transferred to the current account. The report shows the return an investor account has achieved (including accounts fully transferred into the current account) based on the total portfolio (including in the Cash Account).

The calculation takes into consideration all transactions that took place in the portfolio and those that go through the Cash Account including all transactions from previous full and partial transfers.

Investment Performance Summary

The Investment Performance Summary report uses the Modified Dietz method to evaluate performance return by taking into account the timing of cash flows, and determines the single, average rate of return over a specified period of time.

The Modified Dietz calculation is:

a) Total investment earnings of Account for the selected time period; divided by

b) Time weighted ‘exposure’ of the invested funds in the Account.

a) Total investment earnings of Account for the selected time period is calculated as follows: Closing Account Balance minus Opening Account Balance minus Contributions into portfolio (buys) plus Withdrawals from the portfolio (sells).

b) Time weighted ‘exposure’ of the invested funds in the Account weights each cash flow (including the opening balance) by the proportion of the selected time period over which the cash flow was exposed.

Transaction Summary

This report shows a summary of all the buys and sells for each of the funds held in the portfolio.

It also summarises the transactions that have taken place in the cash account for the nominated period.

Detailed Transaction Statement

This report shows all the transactions for the portfolio including all buys, sells, income received, withdrawals and charges over the chosen period. It provides further detail of each transaction that has taken place in the cash account.

Portfolio Snapshot

This is a one page report which shows a transaction summary, market exposure graph and a portfolio valuation for the client’s product over the chosen period.

Investment Earnings Statement

This report shows income distributions (including cash rebates) over the chosen period and the financial year to date.

Asset Blending Statement

This report shows a consolidated view of direct shares, managed funds and investments within SMA model portfolios at a chosen date. The holding, current unit price, value of investment and the percentage of the portfolio held in the direct shares and managed funds are shown as well as total investments made and total taxes paid.

This report shows the holding, current unit price, value of investment and the percentage of the portfolio held in managed funds, direct shares and cash at a chosen date.

This report provides the same information as the Portfolio Valuation report with two additional columns: APIR/ASX codes and the date for which the unit price is provided.

Cash Account Statement

This report provides details of all transactions that have taken in the cash account.

Detailed Portfolio Valuation – Multi Manager view

This report shows the same information as the Detailed Portfolio Valuation report as well as Asset Class, Fund Manager, the investment amount and percentage held within the Fund Manager for Pre Select/Access Pre Select, Horizon series, MLC Wholesale Single Sector and PIC funds, when applicable.

Account Summary

This report shows a summary of all investments (including value & returns) held within the portfolio over the chosen period

Capital Gains Estimation

These reports show unrealised and realised gains/losses for each investments held by the client. It also shows CGT by parcel.

The Capital Gains Estimation Summary has a basic summary while the Capital Gains Estimation is more detailed and contains specific details of each investment held.

Super Contributions Statement

This report details the types and amounts of super contributions received into the client’s portfolio for a specified period of time.

Client Details

This report confirms the client’s personal contact information recorded for their portfolio as well as super benefit components, Bpay details, reversionary/ beneficiary nominations, insurance cover and details of regular facilities

SuperChoice Fund Nomination Form

This is a pre populated fund nomination form which provides details of the client’s super account and the various methods by which contributions can be made into the account.

A compliance letter will also be produced with this form. It can be used instead of completing Section A of the ‘Choosing a super fund — Standard Choice form’.

Centrelink Pension Schedule

The information contained in this schedule is for Centrelink/Veterans’ Affairs assessment purposes. This is so they can calculate their entitlement.

The Group Market Exposure report can give you an overall view of market exposure for multiple accounts. This report shows a market exposure graph and for each included portfolio a breakdown of percentage held in each sector at a chosen date.

Group Portfolio Valuation

This group report summarises the asset diversification across a number of accounts, and can be run for up to five clients. This report shows the holdings, current unit price, value of investment and the percentage of the portfolio held in managed funds, direct shares and cash at a chosen date.

These reports show the total funds under administration which can be broken down by service, investment manager, investment product and investor account. The Snapshot summarises the total value held in each product or service.

Eligible Clients for Contribution Splitting

This report shows the clients who are eligible for contribution splitting with details of the taxed portion, untaxed portion, total splitable contributions made and the reason why the investor may be ineligible for splitting.

Minimum Liquidity

This report shows the Investor’s portfolio value, selldown sequence option, accrual cash balance, estimated minimum cash required and indicates if a top up is recommended if the Accrual Cash Balance is lower than the Estimated Minimum Cash Required. The intent of the report is to highlight accounts that are not meeting minimum cash requirements.

This report shows the Investor’s portfolio value, cash account balance, maximum cash trigger, cash target, Custom Cash method and indicates if the account will be included in the Custom Cash run. This report allows you to review the pension payments for your clients for the next financial year. It shows the minimum, maximum or nominated pension amounts.

Fee Analysis

This excel report details clients’ current status of fees including ongoing administration and remuneration fees, any deferred admin fees, linked groups and much more.

Regular Facilities

This report details your clients’ current status in regards to Regular Facilities such as custom cash, progressive investment, reinvestment of earnings, regular investment, automatic reweight, automatic income distribution, regular pension and regular withdrawals.

AIDF Summary

This report shows those clients who have nominated to have the distribution accumulated in cash paid out to an external bank account on a half yearly basis. The current AIDF amount is based on the distributions that have accumulated in cash. This amount can be compared to the Cash Account Balance to ensure there are sufficient funds to facilitate the AIDF.

This report details which accounts are eligible for Straight Through Withdrawals. Clients are required to have an email address with electronic reporting and a nominated bank account selected for this transaction to be available.

Contribution Caps

This report details each client’s non-concessional and concessional contributions for the chosen period. It also includes Total Personal contributions and indicates whether an s290 declaration has been received.It is designed to assist in managing the contributions caps for your clients.

Adviser Remuneration Statement

This report allows you to view your remuneration for a selected period. Available for Dealergroup logins only.

From the Adviser Reporting tab, click on the MLC Reports tab to obtain the Adviser Remuneration Statement.

Workflow Request Status

This report uses colour coding to display the status of any submitted transactions and any outstanding actions required in order to proceed.

Workflow Request Status in excel

A report can be generated through the regular reporting screen or you can view via the n-link home screen.

You can set the parameters of the report by selecting from Work Type, Status, Investor Account Number, time period and more. To export to an excel spreadsheet, click Export Report.

AdviserFiling Cabinet

From the n-link home page, click Report, then Adviser Filing Cabinet.

Adviser Filing Cabinet

The Adviser Filing Cabinet allows you to view past reports and written correspondence sent to your clients by MLC.

The Report Search Criteria allows you to filter by investor account number, investor account name, date, report type, adviser.

Other report types that are available within the Adviser Filing Cabinet are share executed trades, SMA trades, trade rejections and unclaimed monies reports.

My Statements

My Statements allows you to view your client’s statements before they’re mailed. You can access client quarterly, half yearly, annual and other statements up to five days earlier than the scheduled mailing to clients. They can be accessed 24 hours a day.

1. On the n-link home page, click on the Report button.

2. Click on the My Statements tab.

3. Select the year or type of report you wish to view by double clicking.

4. Highlight the type of statement you wish to view, click Open. Continue to select the relevant statement and click Open until the correct statement is found.

5. You can use the Parent button to navigate to previous screens.

6. To view your report click Open. You can also Download the report straight to your PC 5 and save.
