MORE PRODUCTIVE AND MORE PROFITABLE
Whether you need reliable and rugged performance in
row crops or maximum maneuverability for loader work in
a livestock operation, MXM Series Maxxum tractors from
Case IH are up to the challenge of your toughest chores
and conditions.
Building on the solid foundation of the popular Maxxum
platform, we were able to “make the best better” with more
options to help you be more productive and profitable.
In a bold move marked by continued commitment to
our customers, Case IH introduces a newly engineered line

economy. Turn that extra power into traction with your
choice of transmissions, including a full powershift with
a cycle-saving shuttle lever for faster feedlot work.
The new suspended front axle and shock-absorbing
cab suspension ensure a smoother, quieter ride. And the
spacious cab impresses operators with a long list of
standard features. Plus, you’ll appreciate panoramic
visibility where it counts with row crops and implements,
especially when operating a custom-matched loader.
The end result of all this new engineering is true high
performance from a mid-range model. As always, trust
your local Case IH dealer for expert sales, service and

HIGH-END HORSEPOWER WITH HIGH-PERFORMANCE EFFICIENCY
4
At the heart of every new MXM Series tractor is a
new powerplant — a CNH-built 7.5L, 6-cylinder engine.
This larger-displacement (456 cu. in.) engine is turbo-
charged and air-to-air intercooled for a prime combination
of high-end horsepower and high-performance efficiency.
Best of all, it delivers constant power and deep torque
reserves that keep you on the move under full load, even
through tough hardpan, wet spots and on slopes or
grades. In fact, this powerhouse delivers a top torque rise
of 40 percent at 1500 rpm on the two larger models.
The power management feature puts an additional
35 horsepower at your fingertips for PTO applications such
as large square balers and pull-type forage harvesters. It
also kicks in above 16th gear during transport to improve
engine efficiency and fuel economy. The “cruise control”
feature allows you to operate at a constant engine speed
no matter what the terrain or crop conditions.
Along with its extra power capabilities, the MXM
Series engine also provides efficient fuel economy to help
keep operating costs low.
A L L - N E W E N G I N E
The new engine featuresrotary-designed injectionpumps that deliver fuel inprecisely the right amount tomatch engine airflow. Thatmeans throttle response isfast and fuel burns cleanlyat any speed.
A high compression ratioresults in maximum fuel econ-omy, quick startups and quietoperation. New hydraulicvalves also help reduce opera-tor noise levels to just 72 dBA.
Cross-flow cylinder headsincrease air flow for evengreater efficiency gains.
And specially designed com-pressor blades further optimizeefficiency and performance.
To save precious horsepower,a large-diameter 7-bladevistronic cooling fan operatesonly as needed, automaticallyadjusting for optimal cooling.

POWER GROWTH/TORQUE RISE FOR THE MXM190
The power curve on the MXM190 shows the relationshipbetween torque and gross horsepower as engine speedchanges. 225 gross hp (168 kW) is achieved at 2200 rpm.Peak torque hits 709 lbf/ft. (961 Nm) at 1600 rpm. Best fueleconomy occurs at 1400 rpm.
An MXM Series Maxxum tractor with the all-new
suspended MFD axle offers enhanced stability, greater
traction and improved steering control on uneven terrain.
The suspended front axle design gives you a full
4.13 inches (105 mm) of travel for “stepping over”
furrows and ruts in the field.
In addition to keeping the front tires in contact with
the ground for maximum traction and control, the axle also
helps reduce shock loads and vibration felt by the operator.
Independent tests have shown that up to 5% increase in
drawbar performance can be attributed to operating with
the MFD suspended axle.
An automatic self-leveling to neutral feature delivers
maximum performance and comfort. And a convenient, in-
cab override switch lets you lock out the front suspension
for “fine” loader work. The axle suspension takes the
“bounce” out of the loader and gives you more control
when roading. Plus, steerable front
fenders can stay on the tractor
with a mounted loader,
saving you valuable time.
And at the rear of the MXM175 and MXM190,
you’ll find a heavier 4.13-inch-diameter bar axle with
larger brakes to hold up to the demands of heavy-duty
applications. Plus, an external 3-point hitch control is
standard on the two larger models.
The MXM tractor has an impressive 7.5 L engine that
generates extraordinary power. Equally important is the
way that the MXM tractor transfers that power to the
ground. Full differential lock on both the MFD and rear
axle are standard on all MXM models. This provides
true four-wheel traction, with no risk of the power loss
associated with limited slip differentials.
Using these features is simple with the auto
engage/disengage feature. Select auto and the MFD
and differential locks stay engaged until the system senses
that it should release. For example, the tractor disengages
the differential and MFD lock when it senses that you
are turning around at the end of a field. The locks are
disengaged based on steering angle, forward speed,
hitch position, or braking action. Once these
disengage conditions return to normal,
the MFD and differential locks automatically reengage,
giving you full power just when you need it.
What does it all mean? Maximum efficiency and oper-
ator control for long hours, but easy days!

SMOOTH OUT THE RIDE AND STAY IN CONTROL
5
Until you drive it yourself, you won’t believehow smooth the ride can be with an MXMSeries tractor equipped with the all-new sus-pended MFD axle. It absorbs most of the shockloads and vibrations of rough terrain to keepyou in your seat and in total control.
A simple button press activates the auto feature which automati-cally disengages and engages the MFD axle and the differentiallocks when conditions warrant these functions to be deactivated— such as during headland turns.
With your choice of two transmissions for MXM Series Maxxum
tractors, you’ll make the most of your time no matter what the task.
From the top-of-the-line full powershift to the smooth semi powershift
version, it’s easy to find the perfect speed to boost your productivity.
Both choices come with a convenient clutch-free shuttle with
electrohydraulic control for faster cycle times when doing repetitive
tasks with a loader. Save seconds by changing from forward to
reverse quickly and smoothly without clutching. And a neutral position
with start-up interlock means more convenience and added safety.
Both transmissions can be equipped with an optional creeper
that lets you work at just 0.19 mph (0.32 kph) with the full power-
shift or 0.25 mph (0.42 kph) with the semi powershift transmission.
The 18x6 Full Powershift transmission is standard on
the MXM175 and MXM190 (optional on all other models).
The full powershift utilizes a patented torque sensing system
on the tractor flywheel, measuring both engine speed and
trasmission torque loading. The transmission will change
speed depending on engine rpm, transmission loading and
forward speed. It ensures maximum tractor efficiency and
reduced fuel consumption.
For the ultimate in operator comfort and convenience, the full
powershift includes a digital readout of gears as standard equip-
ment. Reverse programming, speed matching, Auto Field and Road
modes, plus the electronic End of Row function, are added perks to
this highly productive transmission.
Standard on the four smaller MXM Series tractors, the
18x6 Semi Powershift transmission gives you six consecutive
powershift gears in three clutchless range changes. This makes for
a wide speed selection with nine speeds in the critical 2 to 7 mph
(3 to 11 kph) working range. Great gear overlap and well-spaced
speed changes let you match ground speed to your crop, field
condition or application without over-shifting between ranges.
The A, B and C ranges are readily visible and feature six
separate lights indicating each powershift speed within the range.
An audible beep and flashing LED also remind you when a change
is required. Simply press the fast or slow shift buttons on the main
control lever to select the six sequential powershift speeds within the
three ranges. Reverse programming and speed matching are also
standard features that add to your productivity.
New MXM Series Maxxum tractors offer the right transmission
for every operation and the right speed for every job to make you
more productive and efficient.
With the 18x6 full powershift in Select Auto TransportMode, it sequentially shifts through the top seven gearsso the shift pattern corresponds to engine torque andthrottle position.

TWO WAYS TO WORK MORE EFFICIENTLY
6
The 18x6 Semi Powershift transmission includes the following pro-gramming features: Pulse Shift for easy single-speed changes;Sequential Shift to automatically upshift through all the gears in arange; Speed Matching for automatic downshifting as ground speedslows; and Programmable Reverse to select up to a 3-gear ratio belowthe selected forward gear. The pre-select gear feature lets you selectany gear while the shift lever is in neutral then move the lever forwardor reverse for a smooth, modulated start without using the clutch. Intransport, the Automatic Upshift feature automatically matches the gearspeed to engine and road speeds each time the clutch is engaged.
With the 18x6 Full Powershift in Auto Field Mode, engine speedand driveline torque are constantly monitored so the transmissionautomatically shifts up or down two speeds from the ratio selectedby the operator for optimal productivity. If two speeds are notenough for you, just extend the range by pressing the UP orDOWN buttons to a max range of 11 gears. In Select Go To Mode, the system can be programmed to downshift when the implementis raised for more control during end-of-row turns.

All new MXM Series Maxxum tractors feature a
comfortable, convenient cab as standard equipment.
And this Case IH cab is impressive both inside and out.
With the deluxe air-ride seat and the innovative cab
suspension, you’ll enjoy an easier, smoother ride over
all types of terrain.
Visibility is greatly improved through 61.4 square feet
(5.7 m2) of cab glass and a new sloped hood ensures
superior sight lines in row crops. To the lower rear, a
special window gives you a clear view of the hitch for
safer, simpler implement hookups.
Choose the seat that best fits you — two options on
larger models, three choices on smaller units. With special
lumbar features, swivel, seat back tilt, fore/aft slide,
adjustable dampener, and wide armrests, an MXM Series
tractor seat provides maximum support and the ultimate in
comfort for those long days in the field.
Working in tandem with the seat, an all-new cab
suspension system further reduces any jolts and vibrations
you might feel. With 4 full inches of travel, the adjustable
suspension system reduces shock loads by 20 percent.
Just as important, the MXM Series cab is as quiet as
MX models with sound levels as low as 72 dBA. You’ll also
appreciate the adjustable climate control with standard air
conditioning. With multiple power sockets, a cell phone
hook, and plenty of places for storage, the MXM Series
cab is your well-equipped office out in the field.
The optional cab suspension system features isolationmounts at the front of the cab to filter out minor shock loads, while a coil spring and dampener at the rear (shown) absorblarger loads transfered by the driveline and rear axle. A short, rigid stabilizer arm minimizes lateral cab movement, furtherreducing operator fatigue and stress. The 2-point adjustablesuspension system is soft but stable for a stress-free ride.
A HIGHER CLASS OF COMFORT IS STANDARD
Get more done after hours with the standard light packageon all MXM Series Maxxum tractors. A total of 12 lights —two headlights, two front grille-mount worklights, two frontroof-mount worklights, two front grab-rail worklights, tworear roof-mount worklights, and two rear fender worklights— lets you see what you’re doing all around the tractor atall hours. Taillights, fender-mounted turn signals and roof-mounted flashing lights and turn signals help make youmore visible to other vehicles on roadways.
Another major advantage is that two lockable doors are standardon all MXM Series cabs. Now you can enter and exit from eitherside. And the entry threshold is larger for easier access too.

TOP NOTCH PERFORMANCE AT THE BUSINESS END
On an MXM Series Maxxum tractor, the back is the
business end of the machine with hitch, hydraulics and PTO.
With more lift capacity, greater hydraulic flow and a soft-
start PTO, an MXM Series tractor puts more power and
performance where it counts.
Lift large loads with ease thanks to 30 percent morehitch lift capacity — up to 17,085 pounds (7748 kg) on the
MXM175 and MXM190; 14,450 pounds (6553 kg)
maximum on the four smaller models.
Enjoy greater hydraulic flow from the high-capacity,
closed-center pressure-flow-compensating hydraulic system.
An advanced pump delivers up to 28 gpm (106 lpm) on the
four smaller models and 31.7 gpm (120 lpm) on the two
larger models. This reduces power loss and keeps oil temps
lower for optimum efficiency.
The system also runs at low-pressure standby when
hydraulics are idle to save power. A separate steering
pump with up to 17 gpm (65 lpm) on the MXM175 and
MXM190 and up to 16 gpm (82 lpm) on the other models
lets implements have their own hydraulic flow.
The Electronic End of Row function offered on the
MXM175 and MXM190 allows the operator to record the
most frequently used functions when turning at the headlands
such as raising and lowering the 3-point hitch, transmission
shifting up or down, and decreasing/increasing constant
engine speed. Up to 28 tasks can be memorized either as one
continuous program or as two individual programs, one for
each end of the field. A “pause” button allows the operator to
stop and restart the recording, making headland turn program-
ming very quick and easy regardless of changing field condi-
tions. The Electronic End of Row function is also time based,
providing consistent implement control at every turn.
And a “power beyond remote feature” permits the
attachment of a separate feed, return and sensing line. Now
implements with high hydraulic demand can operate with
their own valve controls, simplifying hookup.
Soft-start PTO (standard) provides smooth start-up even
with high-torque equipment and high-inertia loads, which
minimizes stress on implement drivelines. At engine speeds
above 1800 rpm, the soft-start PTO reverts to conventional
PTO engagement. The 540/1000 system is designed to
deliver constant power in non-static applications. It features
a hydraulically actuated brake, which can be disabled when
disengaging high inertia PTO loads to reduce wear on the
implement’s driveline.
Electronic draft control lets you dial in the blend of
position and draft you want to automatically maintain.
Hold a mounted implement at a constant level above or
below ground. Lower-link sensing provides accurate control
of mounted or semi-mounted implements, plus draft sensitiv-
ity is easily adjusted for varying soil conditions.
You’ll appreciate fingertip operation for feather-light
response with dampening action to prevent damage
to implements. A warning indicator alerts you of any
system malfunction.
When you have a long list of hard work to do, trust
an MXM Series Maxxum tractor to help you accomplish
all your jobs with greater productivity and reliability.
The playback/record switch is located on the front console, to the right of the steering column (above). Depress the rightside for recording or the left side to playback a program.
The step switch/pause button (below) allows the operator toeither “step“ through each portion of a program when the toggle swittch above is in the playback mode, or to pause the programming when in the recording mode for completecontrol when setting up the End of Row program desired.
Electronic draft controls are located in a convenient console-mounted pod (shown) on the right-hand side of the cabwhile the drop rate, height limit, position/draft sensitivity, and slip limit are all controlled from a convenient panelto the right of the operator.

SEE YOURSELF DOING MORE EVERY DAY
14
When it comes to what makes a truly great row-crop
tractor, visibility is always high on the request list. That’s
why the new MXM Series Maxxum tractors sport 61.4 sq.
ft. (5.7 m2) of cab glass and a new sloped hood for an
amazing all-around view.
Also important is the ability to make tight headland
turns, so the MXM measures in as low as 16.8 ft. (5.12 m)
turn radius on MFD models thanks to a 55-degree turn angle.
A sturdy frame and longer wheelbase on the
MXM175 and MXM190 provide ideal weight distribution
and strength for large-acreage row-crop operations. To lift
and fold wide-working implements, the two larger models
feature a heavy-duty hydraulic system and 3-point hitch
with 17,085 lb (7748 kg) maximum lift capacity.
With the engine’s power management features, you
can fine-tune this powerplant to perform as efficiently
and economically as possible in each application. Fully
programmable transmission choices give you added
control for time-saving convenience.
For the ultimate in comfort, consider the optional
suspended front axle to significantly smooth out the ride
over rough terrain. The superior cab environment ensures
greater productivity — even on long, hard days.
Best of all, you can depend on an MXM model to put
in extra hours without worrying about costly downtime
when you’re racing against the clock or Mother Nature
during the prime planting window. Trust this tractor to
hold up under the pressure and handle your increased
workload with ease.
Whether you’re planting, cultivating or spraying, a
new MXM Series Maxxum tractor from Case IH can help
you cover more acres in a day.
An MXM190 works well for spraying or tillage tasks becausethe panoramic cab view gives you superior vision in everydirection all around the tractor and implement.

Simply pull the release to raise the tilt-up hood, which liftseasily and safely on gas struts, giving you full access.
Simple servicing steps make maintenancefast and easy. A single piece sloped hoodeasily tilts up to expose major componentswith total access. And daily checks can bedone from the ground level. MXM190 shown.
