Written by Jeremy Bloom Directed by Payden Ackerman In this lyrical, atmospheric interpretation of Peter Pan, Jeremy Bloom strips the familiar story down to its emotional essence. Peter lures Wendy away from her nursery to the magical world of Neverland, where she joins his adventures with Tinker Bell, Tiger Lily and the menacing Captain Hook. A low-tech, inventive adaption that pays homage to the darker themes of J.M. Barrie’s original, Peter/Wendy will mesmerize audiences. Written by Reginald Rose Directed by Darren De Priest This drama depicts a jury forced to consider a homicide trial. At the beginning, they have a nearly unanimous decision of guilty, with a single dissenter of not-guilty, who throughout the play sows seeds of reasonable doubt. Music by Cole Porter Directed by Payden Ackerman Passions run high as leading lady Lilli Vanessi and her ex-husband, actor/director Fred Graham, battle onstage and off in a production of Shakespeare’s Taming of the Shrew. With romance, comedy, sophistication, and behind-the-scenes hijinks, “Kiss Me Kate” combines the irreverent humor of two brilliant writers: Cole Porter and William Shakespeare. This year’s fall dance concert will feature the students of SJC’s Dance Touring Ensemble (DTE) in an evening length dance concert that explores intimacy and the desire for connection within the challenges of our increasingly screen-dependent society. Please join us for the culmination of this semester long process and support the creative efforts of SJC dance students! The SJC Faculty Dance Concert will highlight the talents of SJC dance students as they perform original choreographies created by dance faculty. The choreographic works will range from hip hop to modern dance and will explore traditional, contemporary, and experimental expressions of these genres. This evening of dance is sure to inspire and will include a surprise guest artist!
